Happy Birthday, Jesus 12-25-06

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Happy Birthday! ... "Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men!" (Luke 2:10-14, NKJV). Though the Word of God is from everlasting to everlasting, on this day we celebrate that "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14, NKJV). Lord Jesus, You are the Word of God -- eternal as One with the Holy Spirit and the Father, yet at the same time, humbling Yourself and "coming in the likeness of men" (Philippians 2:7, NKJV). Truly this was a miraculous sign and wonder -- the Creator of heaven and earth humbling His Self to be born as a Babe in a manger. "Fall on Your knees! On hear the angel voices!" I humble myself before You this day, Christ the Lord, my Savior. I praise You with all the heavenly host and all who call on Your name throughout all generations to celebrate the One who is "full of grace and truth." Glory to God in highest! And on earth, peace and goodwill toward men! In Jesus' name I pray, amen. Be encouraged today!
