Morning by Morning, June 20 - "Fullness of Joy" on the "Path of Life"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look to You and call on Your name and listen for Your leading -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...

"You show me the path of life. In Your Presence there is fullness of joy! In Your right hand are pleasures forevermore!" (Psalm 16:11)

The "path of life" You've chosen for me is to abide in Your Presence every step of my journey. If I'm in Your Presence, I'm on the right path -- the "path of life." For You are "the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6).

No matter what steps I take, no matter where this path leads, You'll be with me and I'll be with You. If I take a wrong step, You'll correct me. If I get ahead, You'll slow me down. If I get behind, You'll spur me on. "When (I) turn to the right or when (I) turn to the left, (my) ears shall hear a word behind (me), saying, 'This is the way; walk in it'" (Isaiah 30:21).

Then even along the high cliffs or the dark valleys or the rocky roads or the desert sands of my path, I'll still have "fullness of joy" -- the joy of Your Presence to lead me along and get me through, every step of the way. This is the blessing and inheritance of those who choose to walk with You. Give me wisdom and grace to keep walking with You morning by morning, moment by moment, step by step. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

My friend, may you be filled with the fullness of joy ever step of the way on your path of life, seeking and embracing the Presence of the Lord, in Jesus' name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, June 18 - "In the Morning" Times of Deep Communion in Prayer

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I surrender to Your Spirit. I yield to Your will. I wait for Your leading -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...

"Give ear to my words, O Lord; give heed to my sighing. Listen to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I pray. O Lord, in the morning You hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to You, and watch... I, through the abundance of Your steadfast love, will enter Your house, I will bow down toward Your holy temple in awe of You. Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness ... make Your way straight before me.... Let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, so that those who love Your name may exult in you. For You bless the righteous, O Lord; You cover them with favor as with a shield" (Psalm 5:1-12).

These morning times are the best times of my day. You alone are my focus. You alone have my full attention; and You give me the grace to know I have Yours. You're my King and my God, my Lord and Savior, and my Best Friend. You fill me afresh with Your Spirit and draw me near to abide deeply in Your Presence.

As I listen, You lead. As I surrender, You speak. As I yield to Your will, You prepare the way before me. As I come under Your covering, You spread Your protection over me and set up Your favor and blessing as a shield about me. It's all through the abundance of Your steadfast love and Your tender mercies. And as I enter in to Your house, as I embrace You in my spirit and You enter in to my heart, You set things right to begin my day centered and grounded in You alone.

That's how I can "ever sing for sing" no matter what my day may hold. That's how I can stay calm, hold my peace, face every foe, and know in my heart You've got my back and You'll get me through. And that's how I can trust that no matter what happens today and tonight, at morning's light we'll be right back here together again, as You get me centered and grounded in You again for all the next day may hold. You always have and You always will -- morning by morning, moment by moment, on my daily journey of this life in the deep communion of prayer with You.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.... The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him" (Lamentations 3:22-25). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Morning by Morning, June 17 - Companions in the Harvest

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me begin this day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...

"After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, 'The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Luke 10:1-2 NKJV).

You sent out Your seventy disciples two by two to labor in the harvest and to pray for the harvest to come. The harvest fields were the places You were about to go.

Lord, I believe You are about to go into harvest fields of places and harvest fields of hearts that are ripe and ready for the coming of Your glory. And I want to be found faithful as one of Your laborers and found faithful as one who is praying for more of Your laborers to come join in Your great harvest.

You appointed those You anointed for the task. They didn't choose You, You chose them. They didn't go in their own wisdom or power or authority, but in Yours. And You didn't sent them alone; You sent them in pairs as companions on the journey.

Lord, line up my companions for my journey. Thank You for the divine appointments and supernatural alignments You've chosen for such a time as this in this next season of the great harvest to come. Open my eyes to see the companions You've chosen for me and open their eyes to see me. We can't do this alone --not without You and not without one another. But together with You and together with one another, we can agree in prayer and move mountains in the spirit, because You are with us to move in Your power through us (Matthew 18:19-20).

When those seventy returned, they "returned with joy!" (Luke 10:17). Together with You and with one another, they were learning their identity -- that their names were written in heaven -- and they were learning their authority -- that even the demons submitted to them in the authority of Your name (Luke 10:19-20). In those harvest fields, "Satan (fell) like lightening from heaven" and the glory of God was arising and shining from one end of those harvest fields to another (Luke 10:18).

"Lord of the harvest," appoint me and anoint me, prepare me and position me. Then send me! Wherever You are about to go, I want to be there! And I want to be there secure in my identity as a child of God, secure in my authority as a disciple of Jesus Christ, and aligned with the companions You've appointed and anointed to be with me on my journey in the midst of this great harvest of our time! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may you be secure in your identity and your authority, aligned with the companions the Lord of the harvest has appointed and anointed to go with you into every place He Himself is about to go in this great harvest of our time, in Jesus' name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, June 13 - Behold Both "the Kindness and the Severity of God"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ...

"Note then the kindness and the severity of God" (Romans 11:22).

You are kind, but You are also severe. You speak words of spirit and life, but You also speak truth and correction (Matthew 5:29). You turn the other cheek and are as silent as a lamb led to the slaughter, but You also confront hypocrisy and sin with boldness and authority (Matthew 23:13). You're the Lamb who was slain, but You're also the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5).

You're fully alive and fully mature in every dimension of Your Being. Help me grow up in maturity of faith and character to learn from You and become more like You in every dimension of my being (Ephesians 4:13-15; 1 Thessalonians 5:23).

By the power of Your grace at work within me, may I "be renewed in the spirit of (my) mind, and clothe (myself) with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness" (Ephesians 4:22-24). Teach me how to grow up in kindness and also severity, not prideful but also not passive. Full of love but also walking in truth. Make me more like You each day -- fully alive, fully developed, fully mature in You (Romans 8:29; Galatians 2:20). As You are, so am I to be in my world (1 John 4:17). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may you continue to grow up in Christlike character in every dimension of your being -- fully alive, fully developed, fully mature in Christ -- all by the power of God's grace at work within you, in Jesus' name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, June 12 - I've "Been with Jesus!"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Your sheep hear Your voice (John 10:4).  I'm waiting and listening for Your leading, as I seek to begin my day here in the communion of prayer with You. ...

"The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus" (Acts 4:13 NLT).

In a little while, I'm going to get up out of my "prayer chair" and go out the door of my "prayer closet" into my day. You already know all that I'll encounter. But it's the cry of my heart that all will know that I've already encountered You. It's my great desire that all will know that I've "been with Jesus."

Whether I say a word or not, let them see Your love in my eyes, Your smile on my face, and Your Spirit in my heart. Secure in You because You abide in me (John 15:4), let me be more and more bold to "speak the truth in love" and to live the truth in love, "growing in every way more and more like Jesus" (Ephesians 4:15 NLT). No matter how "ordinary" I may be, the One who is extraordinary lives in me; no matter how much more of the Scriptures I still need to learn and live in my training in the ways of God, the One who is the Word of God lives in me -- "Christ in (me), the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27).

Yes, I've "been with Jesus." And Jesus lives in me every day (Romans 8:10). "He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:27-28). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may everyone you encounter today know that you have been with Jesus because Jesus lives in you, in Jesus' name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Morning by Morning, June 11 - "My Heart is Glad!"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Thank You for Your ever-abiding Presence here in my heart and every moment of my day. ...

"King David said this about Him:  'I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts His praises! My body rests in hope.... You have shown me the way of life, and You will fill me with the joy of Your Presence! ... David was looking into the future and speaking of the Messiah's resurrection" (Acts 2:25-31 NLT).

Resurrected One, You have resurrected me! Joyful One, You have filled me with Your joy! Ever-Present One, You are ever-present with me! "No wonder my heart is glad and my tongue shouts (Your) praises!"

Not only do You show me the way of life, You walk it with me every day. The way of life is a Person -- and Your name is Jesus! (John 14:6). Not only do You walk along with me, You abide right here within me (Romans 8:10; John 15:5).

There's never a moment that I'm alone, never a moment that I'm not loved. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!" (Lamentations 3:22-23) And just like You promised, I'm never apart from Your Presence. "(You're) with (me) always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). "No wonder my heart is glad and my tongue shouts (Your) praises!" In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may your heart be glad and your tongue shout the praises of Jesus, who ever-abides in your heart every moment of every day of your life, in Jesus' name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!

Thank You! for all the Birthday Blessings and Good Wishes yesterday, my friends! You made my day! Love ya'll!

Morning by Morning, June 10 - "All the More Grace!"

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I love You, Lord; and I seek to love You more -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...

"But He gives all the more grace" (James 4:6).

Today, I turn fifty-eight. What comes to mind first is that I'm getting closer to turning sixty -- yikes! But what comes to mind next is how much grace You've given me, how much grace You've poured into me and over me and through me, despite all my sins and failures, all my stubbornness and pride, all my missteps and mistakes.

I guess that's the very point of Your grace, isn't it? And Lord, how I need it all the more today than ever before! How I thank You and praise You that I have it -- "all the more!" Let it never be said that any of Your grace was ever wasted on me! When I cross the finish line of the race of my life through this world, let it be known in heaven and throughout eternity that I used up every measure and moment of all the extravagant grace You lavishly poured out for me!

So as I finish this year of life and begin my next, let Your grace abound "all the more!" Take me deeper, higher, further, than I could ever imagine and never deserve! Keep giving me the audacity of faith to keep passionately believing the best is yet to come! (Proverbs 4:18; Haggai 2:9; John 2:10) In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may you passionately believe the best is yet to come for you, as you keep living into all the more grace the Lord extravagantly lavishes upon you, in Jesus' name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you, my friend!
