Morning by Morning, June 17, 2025 - “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” and All the World Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my eyes and open up my heart to embrace You now, to abide in You now, and in every moment of my day (John 15:4). ... Israel and Iran are at war. And all the world is worried, if not in fear, of what may come. Suspicions abound that the Iranian regime, who has pledged to completely annihilate Israel as a people and a nation from the face of the world, either has or is near to having the nuclear weapon it covets. We don’t know the truth. But You do. We don’t know what’s hidden away deep in a mountain securing a nuclear facility. But You do. We shudder to think of the incomprehensible consequences of what would happen if just one of the ballistic missiles sent to rain down on the Israeli civilians were to get through their air defenses, carrying a nuclear warhead. May that day never come. As the drama unfolds, in this current crisis and in any crisis to come between now and the day of Your return, I join with those from around our world who believe in Your Word and obey Your Command by the leading of Your Spirit: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.     May they be secure who love you. Peace be within your walls     and security within your towers” (Psalm 122:6-7). Yes, Lord. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And at the same time, we pray for the peace of Tehran and Tel Aviv, for the peace of New York and Northern Ireland, for Beijing and Budapest, for Moscow and Madrid, for all the people of our world in every city and nation. May we all seek You as our Security with Your Word as our Authority and Your Spirit as our Guide. Expose terror in every form. Uproot and remove evil in every place. Reveal. Remove. Replace. These are not merely political issues; they are primarily righteousness issues. And we can only know where to stand in righteousness in our words and actions and even in our prayers as we seek the One who is Righteous and embrace the authority and guidance of the Word and the Spirit of the One who leads us “in the paths of righteousness” (Psalm 23:3). As You said long ago, You continue to say to all who have ears to hear: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). With Your peace in our hearts we can pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the peace of our world. And with Your peace in our hearts, we can look forward to the day that Your Word is fulfilled: “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15) In Jesus’ name I pray. Morning by Morning, June 16, 2025 - “He Will Glorify Me” — The Holy Spirit Glorifies Jesus Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look up and listen in for the leading of Your Spirit to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ... “When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is Mine; therefore I said that He will take what is Mine and declare it to you” (John 16:13-15). Lord Jesus, You said of the Holy Spirit, “He will glorify Me.” ... That’s the main way we can discern and know if we are Spirit-filled and Spirit-led: Are You being glorified in our hearts? Are You being glorified in our thoughts, desires, words, and actions? Are You being glorified in our prayers, plans, perspectives, priorities, and purposes? ... As You said of Your first disciples, so You continue to speak by Your Spirit into the hearts of each of Your true disciples today: “If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him” (John 12:26). Come, Holy Spirit. Arise within me, as You glorify Jesus in my heart and through my life today. Lord Jesus, be glorified in me today and in my life as I follow You and serve You every day. Heavenly Father, thank You for entrusting to Jesus all that is Yours, so that all that is Yours may be declared to me and each of us who are Your sons and daughters of God, to be embraced by us and lived out through us as disciples of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, June 10, 2025 - Isaiah 64 for My 64th Year Good morning, Lord Jesus. On my birthday morning, I look up to You and open up my heart to embrace You as Lord and Savior, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, One with my Father, One with the Holy Spirit, and One within me as a child of God and disciple of Jesus Christ. ... On this day, my sixty-fourth birthday, as has become my tradition for each year, I’m turning to the 64th Chapter of the Book of Isaiah. And the verses I’ve declared at Revival Meetings throughout my years of ministry rise up in my spirit with burning Fire today: “O that you would tear open the heavens and come down,     so that the mountains would quake at Your Presence— as when fire kindles brushwood     and the fire causes water to boil— to make Your name known to Your adversaries,     so that the nations might tremble at Your Presence! When You did awesome deeds that we did not expect,     You came down; the mountains quaked at Your Presence. From ages past no one has heard,     no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You,     who acts for those who wait for Him!” (Isaiah 64:1-4) Mighty God, You do “awesome deeds” as You act on behalf of those who wait for You, who put their faith in You, who commit their lives to You in ways we can’t even imagine or expect. But You do! And You are! And You will! Send Your Fire into my heart today! Let this 64th year of my life be a life ablaze with a fiery passion for You as never before! Advance Your kingdom in me and through me everywhere You send me. May I wake up every day trembling in Your Presence—in the Presence of the God who has opened up Your heavens and come into my heart! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, June 9, 2025 - Days of Rest

 

Morning by Morning, June 9, 2025 - Days of Rest Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You into my heart and every moment of my day. ... As Rocio and I get ready to leave for a several days away for some personal vacation time, the word “Rest” comes to mind. ... “And (the Lord) said (to Moses), ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:14). Thank You for Your Presence, Lord. Thank You for Your rest. I’m so thankful for all the ways You allow me to be an “ambassador” of Your Kingdom (2 Corinthians 5:20), a “disciple” of Jesus Christ (John 15:8), a beloved “child of God” (1 John 3:2). I’m so thrilled for every door of opportunity of ministry You open and provide all the grace that’s needed to fulfill every mission (Isaiah 22:22). And, at the same time, I’m so humbled by You to admit my need to get away for some extended time of rest. So as best as I can and all by Your grace, I’m entrusting my burdens and cares to You. And I know Your Presence will go with me, along every step of my path and in every moment of my rest. I pray You’d multiply the moments of my holy “naps” and divine “meditations” without too much regard for times and places and people for a few days away. May we be refreshed and renewed for our return. And when we do return, help us to keep entrusting all the times and places and people to You, without slipping back into any old patterns of taking it all right back upon ourselves. In the mystery of faith and mercy of grace, I commit all this into Your Hands—Your nail-scarred Hands where You already bore all these burdens so that we don’t have to, as we entrust them all to You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
