Morning by Morning, August 29, 2025 – Thoughts and Prayers Good morning, Lord Jesus. Awaken my heart to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ... “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,     and He brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper;     the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm,     and He guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love     and His wonderful deeds for mankind” (Psalm 107:28). To cry out to You in our trouble is prayer. To call upon Your name when we don’t have the words to say is prayer. To allow You to embrace us in our grief, draw near to us in our questions, comfort us in our sorrows is prayer. The heart of prayer is not begging You to do something You don’t want to do. The heart of prayer is not using some king of spiritual manipulation to get want we want. The heart of prayer is primarily communion with God. It’s opening our heart to Your Heart, opening our mind to Your Mind, allowing You to infuse us with Your Spirit. Prayer is agreeing with God, seeking the moving of the Spirit of God in the love and power of God, surrendering to and embracing the will of God in the Presence of God and with one another. As You said: “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:19-20). “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:6-8). That’s what stills the storms in our hearts because You’re with us in our hearts. That what hushes the waves, because You’re with us in our hearts. Trusting in You, embracing You, allowing You to embrace us through all the tragedies and travesties we go through in this broken and fallen world is what brings us into our desired haven, because You are our Desired Haven. Through this deeply personal communion with You where heart cries out to Heart, spirit cries out to Spirt, deep cries out to Deep, You embrace us, You comfort us, and You change us. And then in Your way and Your time, You begin to motivate us to pray and to speak and to act as You lead. Not out of our own desires, but Your Desires. Not our will, but Your Will. Not in our time, but Your Time. So if anybody says thoughts and prayers have no meaning, thoughts and prayers are passive, thoughts and prayers make no difference, they probably don’t know anything about prayer. They probably desperately need the One who is the Object and Answer to all true prayer. So I pray for them. That they may know You. And as they know You, they will come to learn just how meaningful and powerful is this gift of prayer and the Person who is at the heart of all true prayer. I’m asking that You would give them revelation and understanding of who You are. I’m seeking a moving of Your Spirit in their heart that they would find You. I’m knocking on the doors of Heaven that the door of their heart would be open to You and find out just how much You love them and desire to use their voice and their actions to make a difference in their world, if they would humble themselves to cry out to You in prayer. And I pray the same for myself, as I seek to keep growing in our deeply personal communion of prayer. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, August 28, 2025 – “For the King Trusts in the Lord” – Praying for Our Nation and Leaders Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, rule and reign in my heart and every moment of my day (Revelation 19:16). ... “The king rejoices in Your strength, Lord.     How great is his joy in the victories You give! You have granted him his heart’s desire     and have not withheld the request of his lips. You came to greet him with rich blessings     and placed a crown of pure gold on his head. He asked You for life, and You gave it to him—     length of days, for ever and ever. Through the victories You gave, his glory is great;     You have bestowed on him splendor and majesty. Surely You have granted him unending blessings     and made him glad with the joy of Your Presence.  For the king trusts in the Lord;     through the unfailing love of the Most High     he will not be shaken” (Psalm 21:1-7). Early this morning, I joined prayer warriors from across our nation on the daily prayer call led by Apostle Leon Benjamin from the White House Faith Office and Coalition of Leaders to pray for the governmental leadership and people of our country. What a humbling honor to be invited to join in leading prayer today with my good friend, Karen Young. Lord, hear our prayers. That our leaders would be led by Your Spirit, that we would be “One Nation Under God” for “In God We Trust.” For “Righteousness exalts a nation” (Proverbs 14:34). And we are to pray “for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior” (1 Timothy 2:1-3). As we began, I felt led to pray out and personalize Psalm 21, a Psalm of encouragement written for King David in his leadership of his nation over our President and the leadership of our nation: You are the One who gives strength and joy and victory. You are the One who grants the desires of our leaders’ hearts when their hearts are joined with Yours, with Your will, grounded in Your Word and led by Your Spirit. You are the One who grants the crown of leadership that brings rich blessings, when our leaders lay their crowns down at Your feet as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You are the One who grants life, rebukes death and violence, and establishes long life and victory to fulfill Your purposes for Your leaders, Your people and the nation whose God is the Lord. You are the One who grants unending blessings, cancelling the curses and plans of the enemies of righteousness to make our leaders and our people glad with joy of Your Presence. And You are the One who gives grace to trust in You, to seek You, to honor You, to obey You, so that through Your unfailing love, our leaders and our nation “will not be shaken” but will stand firm in the strength You supply and fulfill the purpose and destiny of Your heart for our land and for our people. “How great is (our) joy in the victories You give” (Psalm 21:1), as You advance Your Kingdom, hear from Heaven and heal our land, through a people and a nation who humble themselves to pray (2 Chronicles 7:14). May our leaders and our people humble ourselves in Your sight, that You may lift us up in Your power for Your purposes to fulfill our calling of Your vision in our generation (James 4:10). “Righteousness exalts a nation” and You alone are our Righteousness. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, August 27, 2025 – “With all Boldness and Without Hindrance!” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be first in my heart in these first moments of my morning, here in the communion of prayer with You—Father, Son and Holy Spirit of God. ... “He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!” (Acts 28:31) These are the last Words written of the Apostle Paul in the final mention of him and his life in the Bible. From the day Saul became Paul, from the day the scales were removed from his eyes and his heart, Paul never quit proclaiming the Kingdom of God, never quit talking about Jesus. Through all he said and did, through all he experienced and suffered and overcame, he was faithful every day and faithful to the end. What seeds of life he sowed everywhere You sent him. What legacy of life he left behind. All empowered by Your grace. All led by Your Spirit. All for the glory of God in the name of Jesus. Lord, I’m expecting a long life, full of many opportunities to be Your “ambassador” (2 Corinthians 5:20) and “witness” (Acts 1:8), to be Your “servant” (Mark 9:35) and “follower” (Matthew 16:24), to be Your carrier of Your “Spirit” (Romans 8:9) and “friend” (John 15:15). Like Paul’s example and inspiration, may I be empowered to never stop proclaiming the Kingdom of God and talking about Jesus “with all boldness and without hinderance!” (Acts 28:31). Like Paul’s spirit, may I be given the grace to be able to proclaim in truth, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me! (Galatians 2:20) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, August 26, 2025 – Ever-Available to “Fearlessly” Share the Hope of Jesus

 

Morning by Morning, August 26, 2025 – Ever-Available to “Fearlessly” Share the Hope of Jesus Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be at the center of my heart and in the middle of every moment of my day. ... “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel” (Ephesians 6:19). If the Apostle Paul needed prayer and asked for prayer so he could fearlessly proclaim the Gospel to everyone and in every place You sent him, so should we. And I thank You, Lord, for everyone who prays for us in our ministry of proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom of God, ministering in the authority of Your name and the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of our Father. What strikes me this morning, as I read these Words of Your Scripture is the word “fearlessly.” ... Set me free from any measure of intimidation or hesitation. Increase an anointing of boldness from Your Holy Spirit into my human spirit. Whether I’m in another nation or at my grocery store, whether I’m speaking to hundreds or speaking to one, let me let You speak Your words of spirit and life through me. May I be ever-available to You. May I be ever-available to fearlessly share the hope of Jesus. In this single month of August, You’ve sent me to proclaim Your Gospel and minister the healing love of God on two different continents of Africa and South America. And this morning I’m waking up back in my own continent of North America. But let the passion to share Your heart with the hearts of people continue to burn in me, whether at home or abroad, wherever I am. Let sharing Your hope, Your love be more than an event or a trip, but be my everyday lifestyle. And I pray You would increase this anointing from Your Spirit in the Body of Christ in the earth. To fearlessly, boldly share the hope that is within us (1 Peter 3:15). You are our Hope. You are the Hope of the world. Let us not keep it to ourselves, but be ready to be Your “ambassadors” to everyone and in every place You position us with the Good News of Your Gospel (2 Corinthians 5:20). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
