Morning by Morning, September 3, 2025 – Plow and Sow Now for the Harvest to Come Good morning, Lord Jesus. My Lord and Savior, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, welcome in my heart and every moment of my day, just as You promised that You would be with me “always” (Matthew 28:20). ... “The lazy person does not plow in season; harvest comes, and there is nothing to be found” (Proverbs 20:4). I join with all who are praying for the harvest. The harvest of souls, the harvest of the coming of the kingdom of God, the harvest of revival and awakening, the harvest of another great move of Your Holy Spirit in our hearts and across our lands. You said “the harvest is the end of the age” (Matthew 13:39). And surly “the end of the age” is drawing near, if not already upon us, with all the fulfillment and positioning for fulfillment of the Prophecies of Your Word. Whenever and however harvest comes, You are “the Lord of the Harvest” (Matthew 9:38). So I also join with all who are plowing and sowing and preparing right now. We reap what we sow, according to Your Word. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7). And if we sow nothing, we will reap nothing. If we do not “plow in season,” we will have nothing to harvest when harvest season comes. Also the measure we sow is the measure we will reap, as Your Word declares: “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6). I want to be part of Your harvest, part of this great move of Your Spirit at the end of the age. Show me where to plow and where to sow. Show me how to prepare and be positioned. Show me how deeply to plow and how generously to sow. Don’t leave me out. Don’t pass me by. Let me fulfill all of my part in Your harvest plans. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, September 2, 2025 – As We Think in Our Hearts, So Are We Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading (John 10:27). ... “As he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). What’s going on in our hearts usually determines what’s going on with our words and actions. Even if we try to mask our intentions or hide our motives, our hearts know the truth. And You know our hearts. You said it this way: “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man” (Mark 7:20-23). Lord, I need Your cleansing of my heart every day. Yes, I am a “new creation” in Christ and “all things have become new” in You (2 Corinthians 5:17). You poured out Your Blood on the Cross through Your mercy and love “that we might become the righteousness of God in (You)” (2 Corinthians 5:21). In You, “we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). And at the same time, we live every day in a broken and fallen world full of thoughts and ideas, full of emotional temptations and spiritual attacks, that can defile our hearts and minds if we allow it. So we need Your Holy Spirit to cleanse us in Your Blood, to purify us in Your Fire, to sanctify us from the defilements of the world, the flesh, and the devil (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Not just in a one-time prayer but in an everyday lifestyle—all by the power of the grace of God at work within us. “For it is God who works in (us) both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13). Yes, “we have the mind of Christ” and at the same time, we must be continually “transformed by the renewing of (our) mind” (Romans 12:2) and obey the Command of Your Word to “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (2 Corinthians 7:1). Let David’s humble prayer be the cry of my heart day by day, morning by morning, even moment by moment: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). You’ve put Your “right Spirit” within me, Your Holy Spirit. With my spirit open to Your Spirit, with my will surrendered to Your will, You keep cleansing my heart from every defilement and You keep renewing my mind so that as I think in my heart is what I am, what You are causing me to become, as I continue to grow in spiritual maturity in You. “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in (me) will complete it” (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, September 1, 2025 – Labor Day Prayer—“Come to Me All You Who Labor” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look to You and rest in You—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). On this Labor Day, we honor those work and labor across our land, who have worked and labored to make our land one where all are free to work hard and pursue their dreams as each is led and as each desires. And it’s also a day to rest from our labors. Whether we’re laboring or resting, may we each rest in You each day. Trusting in Your provision, in Your strength, in Your guidance in all we do. Resting is a form of trusting. Resting is a form of expressing our faith and hope in You first, rather than primarily depending upon ourselves first. And resting is a form of remembering that You supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19) and that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light, if we will first “Come to (You)” and “rest” in You. Thank You for the gift of “rest” in You and the gift of trusting in You. May this Labor Day be a day of remembering and resting in You, ready to rise up tomorrow morning to continue our mission and fulfill our dreams in every way You lead each of us. Morning by Morning, August 29, 2025 – Thoughts and Prayers

 

Morning by Morning, August 29, 2025 – Thoughts and Prayers Good morning, Lord Jesus. Awaken my heart to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ... “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,     and He brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper;     the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm,     and He guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love     and His wonderful deeds for mankind” (Psalm 107:28). To cry out to You in our trouble is prayer. To call upon Your name when we don’t have the words to say is prayer. To allow You to embrace us in our grief, draw near to us in our questions, comfort us in our sorrows is prayer. The heart of prayer is not begging You to do something You don’t want to do. The heart of prayer is not using some king of spiritual manipulation to get want we want. The heart of prayer is primarily communion with God. It’s opening our heart to Your Heart, opening our mind to Your Mind, allowing You to infuse us with Your Spirit. Prayer is agreeing with God, seeking the moving of the Spirit of God in the love and power of God, surrendering to and embracing the will of God in the Presence of God and with one another. As You said: “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:19-20). “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:6-8). That’s what stills the storms in our hearts because You’re with us in our hearts. That what hushes the waves, because You’re with us in our hearts. Trusting in You, embracing You, allowing You to embrace us through all the tragedies and travesties we go through in this broken and fallen world is what brings us into our desired haven, because You are our Desired Haven. Through this deeply personal communion with You where heart cries out to Heart, spirit cries out to Spirt, deep cries out to Deep, You embrace us, You comfort us, and You change us. And then in Your way and Your time, You begin to motivate us to pray and to speak and to act as You lead. Not out of our own desires, but Your Desires. Not our will, but Your Will. Not in our time, but Your Time. So if anybody says thoughts and prayers have no meaning, thoughts and prayers are passive, thoughts and prayers make no difference, they probably don’t know anything about prayer. They probably desperately need the One who is the Object and Answer to all true prayer. So I pray for them. That they may know You. And as they know You, they will come to learn just how meaningful and powerful is this gift of prayer and the Person who is at the heart of all true prayer. I’m asking that You would give them revelation and understanding of who You are. I’m seeking a moving of Your Spirit in their heart that they would find You. I’m knocking on the doors of Heaven that the door of their heart would be open to You and find out just how much You love them and desire to use their voice and their actions to make a difference in their world, if they would humble themselves to cry out to You in prayer. And I pray the same for myself, as I seek to keep growing in our deeply personal communion of prayer. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
