Morning by Morning, January 28, 2025 - “No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I declare Your name over every name of anything I’ll face today, for Your name stands above them all (Philippians 2:10). ...   “‘No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,’ says the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17).   May I be Your servant. May I embrace my heritage. May I live into Your righteousness. All by the power of Your grace at work within me. “For it is God who works in (me) both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).   Then the weapons formed against me will fail. Then the tongues of judgment against me will be condemned.   So line up my thoughts with Your thoughts, my desires with Your desires, my words with Your words, my ways with Your ways, my attitudes with Your attitude, my perspective with Your perspective. Let this be “a wall of fire all around (me)” and “(Your) glory in (my) midst” (Zechariah 2:5).   For “You, O Lord, as a Shield about me, my Glory, and the Lifter of my head!” (Psalm 3:3) “I will not be afraid.... Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For You strike (down) all my enemies.... Salvation belongs to the Lord; Your blessings be on your people!” (Psalm 3:6-8). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, January 21, 2025 - Glorious Golden Age   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Put Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your words in my mouth, as I seek to surrender all to You, now and throughout the moments of my day. ...   “Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain. Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights” (Exodus 24:15-18).   It's been declared from the highest Office of our land that our nation has now entered into a glorious golden age. Lord, let it be so! We’re excited to see all You will do!   And at the same time, yesterday, on the same day of this prophetic declaration, I was also joining with a group from our local ministerial association of the various pastors and ministry leaders in our community to commemorate the life of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., speaking from many of his passionate and prophetic words. Rev. King was also speaking of a glorious, golden age to come, grounded in the glory of God covering our land with Your heart and Your Spirit.   Rev. Dr King famously declared in some of the last words he would ever speak on this side of Heaven, “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!” He spoke of hope and honor, justice and unity, love and kindness, truth and mercy, fighting for what is right while trusting in God, all grounded in the Word of God and to be manifested by the Spirit of God, in hearts of the people of our land.   Like Moses, he declared, “I have been to the mountaintop” and there beheld the glory of the Lord. In his famous speech the day before he died for the sake of his convictions, he spoke these words:   “Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land! ... And so I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man! Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!”   Lord, like You came down in Your glory on the mountain in the days of Moses, like You appeared in Your glory in heart and hope and words and prayers of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., let this be the beginning of a time of a glorious golden age in our land and in our world, because the glory of the Lord is rising up in our hearts as a people pursing the Promised Land of the Kingdom of God in us in, in our land, and in our world. May we go up to the mountain of the Lord, as the Lord of the mountain rises up in our hearts, that we may declare, “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!”   “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen!” (Ephesians 3:20-21) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, January 16, 2025 - Our Ever-Present God on Our Most Gut-Wrenching Days   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up, here in my heart and every moment of my day (John 12:32). ...   I was with dear friends on a heart-breaking, gut-wrenching day of their lives yesterday. Some prayers were answered; some were not. At least from our human point of view. It’s hard to have words to say or even prayers to pray in these kinds of moments. And sometimes it’s best just to be present with a sincere hug and unfailing love.   We get through these kinds of moments, these kinds of days, these kinds of seasons trusting in You, seeking grounding in Your Word, embracing the Presence of Your Spirit. And for me, this Word of Your Scripture keeps me grounded, keeps me hopeful, gives me peace in the chaos and encouragement in the heartbreak:   “But this I call to mind,     and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;     His mercies never come to an end;  they are new every morning;     great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:21-23 ESV).   No matter what, I choose to trust in Your steadfast love. No matter what, I choose to trust in Your mercies that never come to end. I need them every morning, every season, every moment. You’re our ever-present God on our most gut-wrenching days. Great is Your faithfulness.   My faith is not that I will never go through any heart-breaking, gut-wrenching days on my journey through this broken and fallen world, but that You are with me through it all (Isaiah 43:1-7). You’re with me through every “fiery trial” that tests my faith (1 Peter 4:12). You’re even using all I have to endure in the opportunities to overcome, to make me more like You through it all--to be conformed into the image of the Son of God (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5; Romans 8:28-29).   So in the midst of the fire of the moment, through the battles of the hardest days, I just need Your grace to look up at Your Face--a Face that’s dripped in the Blood You poured out for me and for all in the greatest anguish of all. In the moment, it doesn’t always change my immediate circumstances or even ease my pain; it just helps me get through it when I remember Yours. “Great is Your faithfulness.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.   Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, January 13, 2025 - “Consuming Fire”—First the Counterfeit of the Enemy’s Destruction, then the Real Thing of God’s Revival Fire!   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name above every name, as I wait for Your word that’s greater than every word. ...   “I came to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” (Luke 12:49).   As all the world continues to cry out for Your mercy and Your Divine Intervention for all who are facing these horrendous fires in California, I’m also sensing a word of hope and an invitation for expectant faith of something greater to come. You redeem all things; You turn all things around, even devastating things, as we keep turning to You and trusting in You through it all (Romans 8:28-29).   The enemy of our souls--the thief who comes to steal and kill and destroy--is a counterfeit, a copycat, seeking to corrupt and destroy Your creation (John 10:10). He’s the spirit of antichrist trying to replace and displace the true Christ; he’s a false god always trying to exalt himself to replace the One True God (Isaiah 14:12-21). You’re the mighty Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5), while he’s prowling around like a lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). You move in Your true power to bring Your Light and Your Truth into our world, while he tries to move in false signs and lying wonders to destroy and deceive our world (2 Thessalonians 2:9).   What’s coming to me is that these destructive, devastating winds and fires on the edge of our nation may be our enemy’s counterfeit move of the Your true move to come. Right now, we are enduring false winds and false fires sent to steal and kill and destroy. But there’s a Wind coming! There’s a Fire falling! There’s a move of God that will consume our land in Revival Fire again!   You are the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and Fire! (Luke 3:16) You came for that very purpose--to bring Your Holy Fire on the earth (Luke 12:49). And You’re still coming to bring Holy Fire in the hearts of people and in the nations of the earth whose hearts are kindled to receive You and this great move of Your Spirit! At just the right time, in the fullness of time--Your time, not the enemy’s time; Your way, not the enemy’s way--send Your Wind; send Your Fire (Acts 2:2-3)!   The enemy brings death; You bring life (John 10:10). His fires come to steal, kill, and destroy; Your Fire comes to purify, sanctify, empower, consume all that’s not yet like You so that You will have a people with passion for You and for our world with a Holy Fire in their hearts that consumes the earth. “For our God is a Consuming Fire!” (Hebrews 12:29).   So we pray against this counterfeit; and we pray for the true thing to come! Even as we pray for Your Divine Intervention in these devastating fires, we’re also praying for Your Divine Intervention in the heart of our nation for the Consuming Revival Fires to come burn across our land and in our hearts! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
