Morning by Morning, April 3, 2026 — “Truly This Was The Son of God!” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up in my heart, exalted in my life as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. ... On this Good Friday, Christians around the world remember Your sacrifice on the Cross as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world: “Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: ‘They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.’ “Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. “Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left. “And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, ‘You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!’ “Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said, ‘He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” “Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing. “Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?’ that is, ‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’ “Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, ‘This Man is calling for Elijah!’ Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink. “The rest said, ‘Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.’ “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. “Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. “So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, ‘Truly this was the Son of God!’” (Matthew 27:35-54) Yes. “Truly this was the Son of God!” Truly, this was the One sent from God, setting aside the glory of heaven to humble Himself in the likeness of human flesh and blood. This was the One who “humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the Cross” (Philippians 2:5-8). In their mockery, You were merciful. In Your misery, You were majestic—not only “King of the Jews,” but “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16). The One they mocked and ridiculed, shamed and rejected, was “Lord of all” (Acts 10:36). Even those who wagged their tongues against You will one day bow their knees before You. For “God (the Father) has highly exalted (You) and given (You) the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). Even the earth responded in the moment of Your Sacrifice. The earth quaked, the rocks were split, the graves were opened, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom! Heaven and earth gasped at this moment—this hell-shaking, eternity-changing moment when You willingly chose, as the Son of God, to offer up Your life for all who put their hope and trust in You alone as Savior of all: “For it pleased the Father that in (You) all the fullness should dwell, and by (You) to reconcile all things to Himself, by (You), whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of (Your) Cross” (Colossians 1:19-20). “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation!” (Romans 5:6-11) Truly You are the Son of God. Truly You are our One and only Savior, the Savior of the World: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18). So on this Good Friday, when we remember all You’ve done for us through Your life, death, and resurrection, I praise You and thank You. I worship and adore You. And I surrender all that I am and all that I have to You—my King of Kings, my Lord of Lords, my Lord and Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, April 2, 2026 — “This is My Body.... This is My Blood” — Remembering Passover in Christ   Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I seek You and follow You, I thank You for Your sacrifice for me during the spiritual journey of this Holy Week with You. ... On the Biblical Calendar, today is the day of Passover. And this Year, on the spiritual calendar we call Holy Week, today is also the day we remember Your last Passover meal with Your first disciples before You went to the Cross. “Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the Passover lamb, (Jesus’) disciples said to Him, ‘Where do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?’ ... “In the evening He came with the twelve. Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me.’ “And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, ‘Is it I?’ And another said, ‘Is it I?’ “He answered and said to them, ‘It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born.’ “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body.’ “Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, ‘This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many. Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.’ “And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives” (Mark 14:12-26). We call this Passover Meal “The Lord’s Supper.” As Your disciples throughout the centuries since You began this tradition, we call this “Holy Communion,” as “Do this in remembrance of (You)” and experience a holy communion with You. As You took the bread, You declared, “This is My body.” As You took the cup, You declared, “This is My blood.” It’s a mystery and it’s much debated by the various traditions of Your Church about what You meant by those words. But as we remember today that night in which You were betrayed, we know at least this much for a certainty, according to the Word of God: “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread” (1 Corinthians 10:16-17). When we remember, when we partake, with humble hearts and expectant faith, we participate in a “communion” with Your blood and a “communion” with Your body according to Your Word. This mystery of faith is a means of Your grace, a means of our joining with You, communion with You, deep intimacy with You, where in some way we can experience the Living Presence of the Living Christ—the One who was crucified, dead, and buried, yet lives in us. “Christ in (us), the hope of glory!” (Colossians 1:27) “He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him” (1 Corinthians 6:17). In this union of Your Spirit abiding in us as we abide in You, we are “the body of Christ, and members individually” (1 Corinthians 12:27). It’s a holy communion, a spiritual fellowship, with You and with one another that we cannot fully comprehend, but we can fully embrace. May we never take it for granted. May we never allow it to become a lifeless ritual, but an eternal reminder of our eternal bond with You and with one another. “We, though many, are one” in You (1 Corinthians 10:17). With great thanksgiving, by Your Spirit, You “make us one with You, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world, (You) come in final victory and we feast at (Your) heavenly banquet.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Morning by Morning, April 1, 2026 – Called to Be Loyal, Not Betrayal Good morning, Lord Jesus. I seek You and follow You in communion with You. ... “Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill (Jesus), for they feared the people. “Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude” (Luke 22:1-6). Judas betrayed You. In doing so, he fulfilled yet another of the ancient messianic prophecies written long ago about these days during the Holy Week of Your death, burial, and resurrection: “Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me” (Psalm 41:9). It was not just Judas in his flesh, but also the spirit of Satan that entered him that led him to betray You. Not just Judas. Not just Satan. But Satan through Judas betrayed You. Lord, search my heart by Your Spirit. Where am I tempted to betray You, to fail to honor You, to turn against You, to withdraw from acknowledging You and my relationship with You. Where have I failed before? Guard my heart from failing again. Peter said he never would (Matthew 26:33). But he did. The same with the other disciples. “All this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled” (Matthew 26:56). Was their betrayal any less than Judas’? Is mine? Fill me with Your Spirit now and always before the day of temptation comes. Allow me the power of Your grace to be found faithful in the day of temptation, no matter the pressures or temptations of any circumstances I may face (1 Corinthians 4:1-3). Rather than giving in to the spirit of betrayal, may I be faithful to be loyal. May I honor Your faithfulness and loyalty and sacrifice for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
