Morning by Morning, September 3, 2026 — “What’s Ahead?” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and seek to be more conformed to Your nature, to begin my day on purpose with You (Romans 8:29). … As I wait, what comes to my heart is the question: “What’s ahead?” … As I ponder the questions that naturally follow—What’s ahead for today? What’s ahead for this weekend? What’s ahead for this year? What’s ahead for this next season of life? this comes to mind: It doesn’t matter what’s ahead as long as You’re my Head. “(Jesus Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:15-18). You are my Head, Lord Jesus. And with You as my Head, I have no fear, anxiety, worry, or stress for what’s ahead. In fact, I’m excited for what’s ahead. Because whatever’s ahead, I get to do it with You on this great adventure of faith. Looking ahead as I keep looking to my Head. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged this day. Morning by Morning, September 2, 2026 — “Rumbling”

 

Morning by Morning, September 2, 2026 — “Rumbling” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day. … As I wait for the leading of Your Spirit, I sense a deep spiritual “rumbling.” Like a deep anticipation, like when your stomach rumbles because you’re hungry, reminding you to eat. I’m reminded of Ezekiel, when You told him, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it” (Ezekiel 3:3). You told him, “Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you” (v. 10). Then he heard the “rumbling” as he expressed his spiritual experience: “Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the Lord rose from the place where it was standing. It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound” (v. 12-13 NIV). I’m no prophet and I’m not seeing any turning wheels or living creatures. But I am sensing a deep rumbling in my spirit. I am sensing that something is shifting, something is moving, something is getting ready to advance or break through or bust forth. I don’t know what it is. As Ezekiel would later say, in the midst of another spiritual experience, “Sovereign Lord, You alone know” (Ezekiel 37:3). You alone know, Lord. But whatever it is You’re about to do, I’m in! Don’t leave me out. Don’t pass me by. Do whatever You need to do in me to get me ready to be able to move with You. Revival. Awakening. A great move of Your Spirit. Shaking everything that can be shaken so that only what can’t be shaken remains (Hebrews 12:27). Whatever we call it, whatever You’re doing, I want to know my place and take my part. Like the “rumbling” of a volcano before the eruption, You’re rumbling in my spirit, stirring up a hunger in me. A hunger for Your Word. A hunger for Your Spirit. A hunger to pray and intercede and proclaim the coming of the Kingdom of God. To make way for the coming of the King! A hunger for a great awakening in my heart and in my world! A hunger of expectant faith, excited to see all You’re about to do! And I believe You’ll prepare me to do my part and position me to get to be a part! All in Your time and all in Your way. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged this day. Morning by Morning, September 1, 2026 — “Behold, the New Has Come!”

 

Morning by Morning, September 1, 2026 — “Behold, the New Has Come!” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I call on Your name and listen for Your leading to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. … As I write out the date here in my prayer journal, I have a sense of the turning of the page from August to September, from the season of summer to the season of fall. And as I wait for Your leading, I hear in my heart: “Behold, the new has come!” … Now this Scripture from Your written Word comes to mind to confirm what I believe I’m hearing as Your spoken word: “The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV). I’m struck by the word “behold.” You’re calling attention to this. You’re saying, “Take note of this. Pay attention to this. Don’t miss this. Behold this; take hold of this; don’t let go of this; don’t let this pass you by without acknowledging this, examining this, pondering this.” It’s both “behold the new” and at the same time, “behold the new has come.” Give me eyes to see and ears to hear both what is “the new” and also to recognize “the new has come.” Now this rises from my spirit and up to my mind: “To take hold of the new, you must let go of the old.” … Yes, Lord. As much as You’re showing me what is new to embrace, show me what’s old to release. The old has “passed away.” That speaks to me of the old being dead and gone. Whether it was good or bad or indifferent. It’s now gone. It’s now dead. It no longer defines or determines what is today, what is new, what is to come. And in Your hands, there is newness of life. In Your heart, there is resurrection life. In Your will, “the new has come.” The new is here. The new is all You’re desiring to do right here, right now, not bound by the past but boundless with possibilities. Behold, “all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27). And “all things are possible for one who believes” (Mark 9:23). I begin this new season excited with expectant faith for all the possibilities You’re setting before me and each one of Your sons and daughters who are called by Your name and carry Your Spirit in our hearts. “Behold, the new has come!” In Jesus’ name I pray. Morning by Morning, August 28, 2026 – “The Waters of My Spirit Are Rising” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Seeking Your face, listening for Your voice, following Your lead, I begin my day focused on You and surrendered to You (John 10:27). … “I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me…” (Habakkuk 2:1). As I’m watching in prayer, what I see with the eyes of my heart is like a great ocean swell gathering strength, rising up, just before it crests and breaks to push into the shore with irresistible power. As I ponder what I see, what comes to my heart is this: “The waters of My Spirit are rising. A great move of My Spirit is about to crest and break and move with My surpassing power—My power to save, My power to heal, My power to awaken My people who are called by My name to display My glory in their hearts and in their world.” … Yes, Lord. Now Your Word comes to mind about “the exceeding greatness of (Your) power”: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come” (Ephesians 1:17-21). Oh, there’s a wave coming! A wave of Your Spirit! Mighty in power, mighty to save, mighty to move in this great awakening that’s about to break upon the shores of our hearts and our world! Come, Holy Spirit! Let Your Living Waters rise up in me and in all who are called by Your name today. Build up in us what You want to break forth through us into our world! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged this day.
