Morning by Morning, June 2, 2026 — Seeking and Discerning True Peace from False Peace Good morning, Lord Jesus. Put Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your words in my mouth, Your actions in my hands, Your destinations in my feet, as You make me more like You today, conforming me and Your disciples into the image of the son of God—morning by morning and moment by moment, this day and every day (Romans 8:29). … As I wait for the leading of Your Spirit this morning, the efforts and hopes and desires for peace in our world come to mind. And as I join in those prayers for peace, I join with the heart of the One who is the Prince of Peace—our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). And at the same time, I’m mindful of the distinction between true peace and false peace, Your peace and the world’s peace. As You said long ago, You still speak today: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). Your peace is not appeasement. Your peace is not a temporary cessation of hostilities. Your peace is a peace that comes from the Spirit of the One abiding in the hearts and minds, changing hearts and minds, of those who truly seek You as their “Prince of Peace” and submitting to Your authority as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Your peace is not passive. Your peace is not complacent. Your peace is not deceived, manipulated, or fooled. Your peace is alive and active, “living and powerful, and shaper than any two-edged sword” like the word of God that reveals “the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). So grant us and the leaders You have place in positions of authority in our nation and the nations of the earth spiritual discernment and godly wisdom. Grant us the grace of “wisdom that is from above” (James 3:17). Pour out Your Spirit of wisdom (Isaiah 11:2). Your wisdom will bring right discernment. And right discernment will distinguish between true peace and false peace, Your peace and the world’s peace. Your true peace also carries Your “sword.” As You also said long ago and also still speak today: “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword” (Matthew 10:34). You did not come to bring the pacifistic peace of the world that chooses the compromise of conscience, passivity of cowardice, unwilling and afraid to risk confrontation to injustice, persecution, tyranny, or terror. While You are “the Lamb of God who takes aways the sin of the world” (John 1:29), You are also “the Lion of the Tribe of Judah” (Revelation 5:5). While You are “the Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6), You are also a warrior, for “The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name” (Exodus 15:3). “The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies” (Isaiah 42:13). We are to seek to be like You (1 John 4:17), as You are work in us by Your Spirit, conforming us to the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29) and transforming us by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). We are to have Your mind and heart, Your wisdom and ways (Philippians 2:5). And all of this is You, in the fullness of every dimension of Your Being—not just one part or one way or the world’s way or the world’s view of Your way. You abound in mercy, but You are also righteous in judgment (Psalm 116:5), You desire peace but, at the same time, You are also “mighty in battle” (Psalm 24:8). We will only know when to lay down our lives and our weapons and know when to stand and fight when we know the One who is our Peace in our hearts. Then we will be led by Your Spirit rather than our flesh or the spirits of this world. Then we will be led by wisdom from above rather than the wisdom of this world below (James 3:17). Then we will be followers of Christ, filled with the Spirit of Christ, standing firm in Your truth as salt and light in our world (John 10:27; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 6:11; Matthew 5:13-16). Let us hear Your voice (John 10:27) and be led by Your Spirit (Romans 8:14). We pray this for ourselves and for our leaders and for the leaders of our world. Then the ways of the world, then the false forms of fake peace in our world, will not overcome us. For You have overcome the world in Your true peace, just as You said: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). So I join in the agreement of prayer with all who are praying throughout the world for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2). May “the peace of Christ rule in (our) hearts” as we pray for every heart to be turned to You (Colossians 3:15). And I join in the agreement of prayer that those ruling in authority would know You and “the peace of God which surpasses all understanding (to) guard (our) hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). This is the true peace that only You can give. As they say, “No Jesus; no peace. Know Jesus; know Peace.” May our leaders and rulers, along with every one of us, know You and Your peace, Lord Jesus, our “Prince of Peace.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, June 1, 2026 — A New Heaven in the Earth One Day and Also in Our Hearts Today Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day speaking Your name, for there’s power in Your name and peace in Your Presence. … As I wait for Your leading this morning, this Word comes to mind, speaking of a day to come: “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away’” (Revelation 21:1-4). One day heaven will come to earth. No more sorrow. No more pain. Death will be swallowed up in the victory of Life. And nothing will separate us from the love and power and Presence of our God. You will be our God and we will be Your people, and You will dwell among us forever and ever. And, at the same time, we can also embrace Your heaven in us now. As You said long ago, You continue to declare today by Your Spirit to all who have ears to hear and a heart to receive: “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21). We don’t have to wait for the day the New Jerusalem of the Kingdom of God comes down from heaven. And we don’t have to wait to go to heaven when we die. We can have heaven in our hearts today! We can experience and embrace the Kingdom of God within us—right here, right now, this day and every day—as we proclaim You as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in our hearts (1 Timothy 6:15; Revelation 19:16). “For the Kingdom of God is … righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17). Come, Holy Spirit. Establish the Kingdom of God in my heart today. Come, Lord Jesus. Come rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in my heart today. Come, my Heavenly Father. You are our God and we are Your people, as You dwell among and live within us by Your Spirit. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God, You are One and You are holy and You come to establish Your heaven in our hearts every day as a foretaste, as a first-fruits, as a foreshadowing of that great and glorious day to come when the New Jerusalem comes down from heaven in the “new heaven” and “new earth” to come. “Nevertheless we, according to His promises, look for a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells” (2 Peter 3:13). Let it be so in me today. All by the power of Your grace at work within me and within all who are called by Your name and embrace You and Your Kingdom in our hearts. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Morning by Morning, May 29, 2026 — “One Spirit with Him” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my eyes and open up my heart to embrace You in every area of my life and every moment of my day, as I abide in You and You abide in me (John 15:4). … You’re One with our Father, One with the Holy Spirit, and in the mercy and grace of God, in the great mystery of faith, You desire to be One with me and every son and daughter of God: “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him” (1 Corinthians 6:17). This “oneness” of our hearts with Yours, our spirits with Yours, is almost beyond our human comprehension. Yet it is Your deep desire, as You expressed in one of Your last prayers on earth in Your humanity as Son of Man before returning to heaven after Your resurrection as Son of God: “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me” (John 17:20-23). My human mind can’t fully grasp and comprehend this truth, this possibility of a spiritual reality, where I am “one” with You, “one spirit” with You. But I choose to believe this by faith, to embrace this in obedience, in spirit and truth, by the grace of God. Lord God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—may I learn to grow and live into this truth of this spiritual reality more and more every day on my spiritual journey with You. “Grace upon grace” (John 1:16) and “faith to faith” (Romans 1:17). “For in (You), we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, May 28, 2026 — First in Priority for Spiritual Intimacy with God

Morning by Morning, May 28, 2026 — First in Priority for Spiritual Intimacy with God Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day seeking to abide in You, as You abide in me (John 15:4). … As I wait for the leading of Your Holy Spirit, this comes to my heart: “Seek Me first. Then I will be first. First in all your heart. First in all you are. First in all you do.” … Yes, Lord. This Scripture from Your written Word comes to mind immediately in confirmation of what I believe I’m hearing in my heart as Your spoken word: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). So simple. And at the same time, so profound. So simple. And such a key to my spiritual journey with You. You must be first. You must be the priority. And that has to begin with the first moments of my morning and then continue throughout the moments of my day. David expressed the same thing, this same perspective of heart and spiritual priority: “One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple” (Psalm 27:4) “To inquire in (Your) temple” is to abide with You in my heart, as You abide with me in my heart (John 15:4). For my heart is Your temple, where I pursue You and embrace You and live out the moments of my day in communion with You—heart to Heart, spirit to Spirit, deep to Deep. With You as my Priority, seeking You first, I experience the Promise and Truth of Your Word from Your invitation to spiritual intimacy: “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him” (1 Corinthians 6:17). Lord, keep me in that place of spiritual intimacy with You. This I desire. This I seek. That I may dwell with You and You dwell within me, that You may be First in my life right here, right now, and throughout the moments of my day, this day and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
