"The Lord is merciful and
gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.... As a father has
compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear Him.
For He knows how we were made; He remembers that we are dust" (Psalm
103:8-14).
Your love never backs off,
never shuts down, never lets go. You are always abounding in steadfast love.
Even when You correct us and discipline us, You keep reaching out to us in Your
mercy and grace.
You remember we are
dust-sometimes so dry we feel we could blow away, sometimes so filthy we feel we
could never be clean, sometimes so muddy we feel we're so weighed down and
washed out that we could never rise again. But we are dust You've created with
Your hands and awakened by Your breath. And with this dust of all the everyday
moments and choices of our lives, You keep shaping us into vessels fit for Your
purpose to display Your glory, Your mercy, and Your love-even when we deserve it
the least and always when we need it the most.
Thank You, Father, for
always abounding in steadfast love. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
