Impartation of the Gifts of the Spirit - May 12, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, May 12 - Impartation of the Gifts of the Spirit   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill my heart with Your Spirit, as I begin my day pressing into Your Presence -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...   “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established -- that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me” (Romans 1:11).   One of the ways that You establish us and strengthen us and encourage is through the impartation of spiritual gifts, one to another. What You’ve poured into us, You also desire to pour through us -- “distributing to each one individually as (You) will” (1 Corinthians 12:11). “There are diversities of gifts, by the same Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:4).   In Christ, we all have the Holy Spirit abiding with us, so that You can do anything You desire to do through us at any time You desire (Romans 8:9). And at the same time, You also express Your spiritual gifts through us in the particular ways and for the particular purposes You have called us and send us forth into our world as “the body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27).   You call us, even command us by Your Word, to “earnestly desire” spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:31) and not “be ignorant” of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1). And seeking Your heart and Your nature, Your Word commands us, “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that (we) may prophesy” (1 Corinthians 14:1).   This weekend, I’m so blessed and humbled and honored to come to be graduating from my second year of the MorningStar Ministries’ School of the Prophets. Tomorrow, we’ll be receiving words of encouragement and prayers of impartation from Rick Joyner, Chris Reed, Tom and Mary Anne Hardiman, and other teachers and leaders of the ministry, where we’ve been learning to hear Your voice and speak Your words to encourage and comfort and build up Your people by the leading of Your Holy Spirit through our various ministries (1 Corinthians 14:3).   Lord, I’m hungry to receive all You have for me - hungering and thirsting for more of You (Matthew 5:6; Ephesians 5:18; Isaiah 55:1). And I’m ready to obey all You desire to do through me. “Freely (I) have received, freely (I desire to) give” (Matthew 10:8 and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).   By the power of Your grace and Your Spirit, fulfill Your Word in me and in all who make themselves available to You as expressions of Your character and vessels of Your authority as the body of Christ in our world:   “The end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’ Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the utterances of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen!” (1 Peter 4:7-11) In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. Be encouraged today. “Your Majesty” - May 9, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, May 9 - “Your Majesty”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day. ...   In these days of celebration, of all the pomp and circumstance of the coronation of a new king and queen of England, Charles and Camilla are now to be referred to as “His Majesty” and “Her Majesty.” But what keeps coming to my mind and rising up in my heart is “Your Majesty.” As Your Word declares:   “Now to Him who is able to keep (us) from stumbling, And to present (us) faultless Before the Presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen!” (Jude 1:24-25)   No human king or queen can present us faultless before Your throne or keep us from stumbling or fill us with the exceeding joy of the glory Your Presence. To You alone belong glory and majesty, dominion and power, worthy of our worship and fealty and allegiance -- O God, our Savior.   You are our Sovereign King, our Glorious Lord -- “King of Kings and Lord of Lords!” (Revelation 19:16) And one day to come at the end of this age, all “the kingdoms of this world (will) have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and (You) shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15)   I join with all the saints of old, with all who call upon Your name and surrender to You in their hearts -- past, present, and future -- in prayer for that day to come when You set things right among the kingdoms of this world and fulfill the consummation of the Kingdom of God in our hearts and all the earth. In that day, in the day of Your Majesty, “the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea!” (Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14).   So between this day and that day of Your Majesty to come, may we join in the declarations of the Word of God, expressed through the words of King David, about the kings and kingdoms of this world:   “Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.’   “He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: ‘Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.’   “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him!” (Psalm 2:1-11)   “The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved!” (Psalm 93:1)   In my heart and mind, I will turn away for a moment from all the glory and majesty of the things of earth, I will turn off my television and close out of my social media; and “I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your Majesty, and on Your wondrous works!” (Psalm 145:5) For to You alone, belong “glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever!” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Mighty Men of David -- Mighty Warriors in the Army of the Lord, the Son of David - May 8, 2023

Morning by Morning, May 8 - Mighty Men of David -- Mighty Warriors in the Army of the Lord, the Son of David   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I bow before You in my heart and look up to You in my spirit to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...   Scripture lists “the names of the mighty men whom David had ... thirty-seven in all” (2 Samuel 23:8-39).   These were the men of God who stood by him and fought alongside him. They were all at varying places of spiritual maturity, but all of them revealed a deep place of loyalty and faithfulness to the one they looked toward to lead them. They were the mighty men, the mighty warriors, of the army of David.   One killed eight hundred men in one battle. One stood his ground and fought off the enemies of the Lord until his sword stuck to his hand, as if his hand were welded to his sword. One chased a lion down into a pit and fought it to the death on a snowy day.   They were courageous. They were unrelenting. They were mighty men of David who chose to follow David and were willing to lay down their lives for David. And their lives speak to us as our calling to pursue You -- “the Son of David” (Matthew 1:1), the One who forever sits on “the throne” of David (Luke 1:32) -- both “Son of God” and “Son of Man” (John 1:34 and 12:23) -- the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” who “judges and makes war” at the head of “the armies of heaven” (Revelation 19:11-16).   We are to be Your mighty warriors (2 Timothy 2:3), courageous, unrelenting, faithful to You through every battle we face for our families, our communities, our nations, learning to weld “the weapons of our warfare (which) are not of the flesh, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). We’re learning, as You equip us and empower us by Your Spirit, to “put on the whole armor of God” and to wield “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” until our swords are stuck to our hands and sealed in our hearts to be released through our words in the days of our battles against the enemies of the Lord -- whether in our own flesh or in the world we face (Ephesians 6:10-20).   What an honor it was to join with mighty men of God this weekend for our Messiah Ministries Men’s Retreat -- learning of the power of covenant, learning of the weapons of our warfare to fight in the battles we face, looking to You and learning to take our place in the army of the Lord. As we come out of our retreat, let us now move forward in advance -- in courage, and faithfulness and loyalty to You -- Son of David, Son of God, Son of Man, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.   Let it be so for each of Your sons and daughters of God, soldiers and warriors in the army of the Lord -- “more than conquerors through Him who loved us” and gives us the victory in every battle (Romans 8:37). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. The Glory of the Lord Fills the Temple of Our Hearts Throughout Our Land - May 5, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, May 5 - The Glory of the Lord Fills the Temple of Our Hearts Throughout Our Land   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Put Your thoughts in my mind and Your desires in my heart, as You give me grace to walk in Your ways today. ...   As I wait for Your leading, the imagery of this Scripture comes to mind:   “When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house” (2 Chronicles 7:1-2).   First there was prayer and then there was fire. First there was dedication and preparation, and then there was Your habitation of the glory of Your Presence. You “filled the temple” because it was dedicated, consecrated, and set apart as “the Lord’s house.”   And when “the fire came down” and Your glory “filled the temple,” all the people “bowed their faces to the ground ... and worshiped and praised the Lord” (v. 3). Even the priests “could not stand to minister ... for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God” (2 Chronicles 5:14).   As my good friend John shared with us last night at our home group, hardly able to speak under the anointing Your Holy Spirit, this is the context of the prayer we pray of national repentance for revival and healing in our land:   “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).   It’s Your heart to forgive and heal. It’s Your heart for Your Holy Fire to fall and fill hearts that are set apart as holy unto You. And by Your grace, we are Your temple; we are Your house. For in You, our bodies are Your temple and our hearts are Your house (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).   As You spoke to King Solomon of that earthly temple, You speak to us as Your spiritual temples when we humble ourselves to seek You in repentance and prayer for ourselves and our land: “Now My eyes will be open and My ears be attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually” (2 Chronicles 7:15-16).   Following our National Day of Prayer yesterday, as presidential leaders of our land have established from the beginning of our history as a nation, and as hearts across this land turned to You in repentance and prayer in our day, Lord, would You send Your Fire from Heaven! Lord, would You come fill Your temple, Your house -- the hearts and souls of Your children who have set themselves apart for You as a habitation of Your glory in our homes and neighbors and communities across this land! May the light of Your glory dwell in us, arise and shine from within us, pushing back the darkness and opening up the heavens over us and throughout this land!   As we draw near to You, You draw near to us (James 4:8). As we abide in You, You abide in us (John 15:4). As we surrender to You and open our hearts to You, You fill us with Your Spirit to display Your glory through our lives everywhere You have positioned us in our land and for this time (Ephesians 5:18; Isaiah 61:1-7; Matthew 5:14).   Continue to unfold and fulfill the Promise of Your Prophetic Word for the people of God whose hearts are dedicated to God as the temple of God:   “Arise, shine; For your Light has come! And the Glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His Glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your Light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.   “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy!” (Isaiah 60:1-5)   Lord, let it be so -- here in our hearts and here in our land and throughout our world. “For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea!” (Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14) “And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come!” (Matthew 24:14) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
