Morning by Morning, May 9 - “Your Majesty” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day. ... In these days of celebration, of all the pomp and circumstance of the coronation of a new king and queen of England, Charles and Camilla are now to be referred to as “His Majesty” and “Her Majesty.” But what keeps coming to my mind and rising up in my heart is “Your Majesty.” As Your Word declares: “Now to Him who is able to keep (us) from stumbling, And to present (us) faultless Before the Presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen!” (Jude 1:24-25) No human king or queen can present us faultless before Your throne or keep us from stumbling or fill us with the exceeding joy of the glory Your Presence. To You alone belong glory and majesty, dominion and power, worthy of our worship and fealty and allegiance -- O God, our Savior. You are our Sovereign King, our Glorious Lord -- “King of Kings and Lord of Lords!” (Revelation 19:16) And one day to come at the end of this age, all “the kingdoms of this world (will) have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and (You) shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15) I join with all the saints of old, with all who call upon Your name and surrender to You in their hearts -- past, present, and future -- in prayer for that day to come when You set things right among the kingdoms of this world and fulfill the consummation of the Kingdom of God in our hearts and all the earth. In that day, in the day of Your Majesty, “the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea!” (Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14). So between this day and that day of Your Majesty to come, may we join in the declarations of the Word of God, expressed through the words of King David, about the kings and kingdoms of this world: “Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.’ “He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: ‘Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.’ “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’
Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him!” (Psalm 2:1-11) “The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved!” (Psalm 93:1) In my heart and mind, I will turn away for a moment from all the glory and majesty of the things of earth, I will turn off my television and close out of my social media; and “I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your Majesty, and on Your wondrous works!” (Psalm 145:5) For to You alone, belong “glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever!” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
