Morning by Morning, September 12 - “He Will Say ‘Here I AM’”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name over every area of my life and bring every area of my life under the authority of Your name (Philippians 2:9). ...   “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am’” (Isaiah 58:6-9).   O Lord, I want to hear You say “Here I AM” when I cray out. I want to know that You see my needs, that You know my struggles, that You’re with me in my battles, that You are for me and with me, guiding me and empowering me into all You have for me and desire to do through me.   So give me a right heart. Develop in me a right character. Form right motives in my desires and right thinking in my mind. Give me Your perspective of who I am, of who You are in me, and the priorities You have for me as I now go about the moments of my day.   Crucify the selfishness of my flesh. Deliver me from evil and pull down the strongholds of pride and self-centeredness. Forgive me for wasting Your resources and the time You’ve entrusted to me during this small sliver of time You’ve entrusted to me on this side of Heaven in the ways that don’t align with Your will and Your ways. And thank You for the opportunities You’ve given me to be in the flow of Your Spirit and the center of Your will--as best as I can and all by Your grace.   As I seek to begin this day with You renewing a right spirit within me, let Your Light “break forth like the morning” and let Your glory be my “rear guard.” Let Your “righteousness” go before me because You’ve set things right within me by the power of Your grace and the mercy of Your love. In the power and authority of Your name, let bonds of wickedness be released, heavy burdens be lifted, crippling yokes be broken, healing spring forth speedily, and the oppressed be set free! All for Your glory! All in the way You have chosen! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, September 9 - “Exceedingly Abundantly” More on Our Pakistan Ministry Trip! Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be at the center of my heart and every moment of my day. ... “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21).   We’ve just returned home from our Pakistan ministry trip, where we saw You move in such power of Your love and confirm Your Word with signs and wonders in the authority of Your name. All along the way -- in the streets, in the homes, in the churches, at the brick kiln compound where many were trapped in bonded slavery, in the rental car, in our outdoor gatherings where we witnessed such hunger for more of You. You were healing hearts and bodies, mending relationships and restoring hope, changing mindsets and breaking chains of bondage, pulling down strongholds and replacing them with peace and joy and love. “Exceedingly abundantly above all that we (could) ask or think!”   But on our last night outside a village on a plot of land among the fields, the people came by foot, motorcycles, rickshaws, and busloads to the largest gathering our ministry has ever witnessed for our Jesus Healer & Savior Crusade at Pattoki, Pakistan. Over 3 thousand came! Maybe closer to 4 or even 5 thousand, some have estimated. And probably over 700 opened their hearts to Jesus for the first time! I had to ask twice to make sure they understood the question because so many responded to the invitation to join in the prayers of salvation!   And many come up on the platform to give immediate testimonies to miracles among the prayers for healing and deliverance -- like the man who testified he was lame but now could walk and showed us all! Wow! Praise You, Lord Jesus! Many were still lining up to give testimony, as we had to get away to catch our plane for home, which we will be excited to see on the videos being filmed by our host team!   Only You could do all that! And You did in ways that were so much more than we could have ever imagined! You’re our Healer and our Savior! Many there among the predominate faith of that nation know You as Healer and Prophet, but that night many also came to know You as Savior! Praise God! And maybe the best of all was to see such joy on their faces as they were filled with Your Spirit to carry it all home to their families and villages and everywhere Your Fires of Revival will continue to burn!   Thank You, Heavenly Father! Praise You, Lord Jesus! Keep moving in power and love, peace and joy, Holy Spirit! You are the God of more! You are the God of “exceedingly abundantly above all that we (could) ask or think!” All glory and honor to You “forever and ever! Amen!” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, August 23 - “Awaken! Arise! Shine! Do Not Sit Back but Go Forth!” Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I draw near to You--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--I know You draw near to me, just as Your Word promises: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). ... As I wait for the leading of Your Spirit, I hear in my heart: “Awaken! Arise! Shine! Do not sit back but go forth! Do not hide away but shine forth! My people are My light in this world. My people are created and called to awaken, arise, and shine! For the darkness of this world shall not overcome the Light of My glory--not in My people, not in this world.” ... To confirm what I believe I hear and “test all things” to “hold fast” to what is good and true (1 Thessalonians 5:21), this Word of Your Scripture comes to mind immediately: “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: ‘Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.’ “See then that you walk carefully, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:8-16). Yes, Lord. Awaken me. Arise within me. Shine through me. You know every measure of darkness that has sought to hide me and consume me, but I praise You for the Light of Your Glory that has saved me, healed me, freed me, and has now unhidden me! I’m remembering right now how I used to be afraid of the dark when I was younger--before the healing and deliverance of my soul (James 4:7). But now the darkness fears me because You are in me and I am in You! (John 15:4) Now I can arise and shine, for my Light has come! (Isaiah 60:1) And darkness cannot ever overcome the Light--the Light always overcomes the darkness (John 1:5). You are that Light in me, just as You said: “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the Light of Life (John 8:12). And now by Your Spirit living in me, shining through me, “He who is in (me) is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). As You spoke to Your first disciples, so You still speak to every child of God and disciple of Jesus Christ today: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16). Lord, let it be so in me today--this day and every day--all by the power of Your grace motivating me and empowering me to Awaken! Arise! Shine! No holding back; no hiding away. Overcoming the darkness by the Glory of Your Light shining through me wherever I am and wherever You send me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, August 22 – “A Time of Trouble. A Time to Shine” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me hear Your voice in my heart, as I listen for Your leading, for Your sheep hear Your voice and follow You (John 10:27). ... As I wait, what comes to my heart are these words: “A time of trouble. A time to shine.” ... I’m drawn to the end of the Book of Daniel, to words written there, sealed up and “shut up” from understanding and revelation “until the time of the end” when “knowledge shall increase” (Daniel 12:4). There will come a day when these Prophetic Words are fulfilled: “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever” (Daniel 12:1-3). At that time to come, it will be both “a time of trouble” and a time to “shine.” Despite the trouble of the darkness of those days, “Those who are wise shall shine.” And in their shining with “the brightness” of the glory You impart, they will “turn many to righteousness,” who will also be given that same brightness to shine “like the stars forever and ever.” Lord, let me be one of those who will “shine.” Even now, in the unfolding of time, in the advancing toward those days of both a time a trouble and a time to shine, be at work in my heart now. Get the darkness out of me; let Your Light shine in me. Cleanse my soul and awaken my spirit. As Your Word commands by the power of Your grace, we are to be children of the Light--"blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom (we) shine as lights in the world, holding fast the Word of Life, so that (we) may rejoice in the day of Christ” (Philippians 2:15-16). You are “the Light of the world” (John 8:12). And because You abide in us and we abide in You, You said to all who follow You and allow Your Light to shine through us, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Lord, lead me “in the paths of righteousness” now so that I can be among those who “turn many to righteousness” then (Psalm 23:3). Then “I will fear no evil” even through the darkest valleys and even “in the presence of my enemies” (Psalm 23:4-5). Every day now, between this day and those days to come, are days of preparation--days where Your Holy Spirit is preparing the way of the Lord in our hearts and in our world (Isaiah 40:3; Mark 1:3). Every day now and until those days to come, may I be a part of those You’ve called by Your name to awaken, to arise, and to shine: “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you!” (Isaiah 60:1-2) Let me be one of those “found written in the book” You’re prepared to shine with an impartation and imputation of Your righteousness (Daniel 12:1). Do all that needs to be done in me now: Crucify my flesh (Galatians 2:20). Deliver me from evil (Matthew 6:13). Fill me with Your Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). No matter what times of trouble may come--in our world or in my life--may my eyes be upon You and by the power of Your grace, may the Light of Your glory arise and shine through me. “Christ in (me), the hope of glory”—Your glory shining through me and every one of the sons and daughters of God in Christ (Colossians 1:27). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
