Morning by Morning, May 15, 2025 - “Intimacy and Authority” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill my heart with Your Spirit as I begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ... As I wait on Your leading, I believe these words come from Your Heart to mine, rising up from my spirit into my mind. ... “Intimacy and Authority.” ... Yes, Lord. What are You speaking to me of intimacy and authority? ... I believe I sense You saying in my heart: “The measure of authority I will release through you is directly related to the measure of intimacy you allow with Me.” ... Yes, Lord. You’re reminding now of those similar words You spoke to me then so many years ago when I began the “Morning by Morning” journey of prayer with You. That’s when I began setting apart the first part of my mornings with You in these intimate times in the communion of prayer. And right now, I’m sensing Your calling to deeper times, even more intimate times. You’re bringing some Scriptures to mind to confirm with Your written Word what I believe I’m hearing in my heart by Your spoken word: “My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up” (Psalm 5:3). “Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You” (Psalm 143:8). And the Ones You spoke into my spirit over twenty years ago at the beginning of this journey together: “He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned” (Isaiah 50:4). “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,     His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;     great is Thy faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul,     ‘therefore I will hope in Him.’ The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,     to the soul that seeks Him” (Lamentations 3:22-25). I do seek You. I do pursue You. Give me a deeper hunger, a deeper thirst, to seek You and pursue You even more intimately still. And I pray that through this deepening intimacy, You may entrust me with increasing authority to be about Your will and Your way with my life, wholly surrendered and completely submitted to You, growing in knowing You more and more personally in our ever-deepening relationship. Lord, let this be the priority of my life, as expressed by giving You the offering of the first moments of my days. Growing “morning by morning” and even, by Your grace, moment by moment. Bring me to the place in my spirit as the Apostle Paul was able to say, “Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians 3:8). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, May 14, 2025 - “Returned with Joy!” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be at the center of my heart and foundation of my life. ... “Then the seventy returned with joy!” (Luke 10:17) I’m blessed to be returned with joy—back home now in Texas after my ministry journey to Pakistan. In the midst of the war that broke out between Pakistan and India while I was there, I experienced cancellation after cancellation on my flights both within the country and trying to get out of the country due to the governmental closure of the airspace over Pakistan. But God. ... Thank You, Lord God, for making a way where there seemed to be no way. And thank You for continuing to use me in every moment while I was there until the moment I boarded my plane back home to America. So many times, my heart would pound to press back anxiety about all the situation, but You keep giving me Your assurance that my moments where in Your hands. You kept bringing to my spirit this simple command that kept me focused and at peace through every challenge: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). By the power of Your grace working in me, I kept rejoicing, I kept praying, I kept giving thanks. And You kept giving me more grace, every step of the way, and especially in the moments where I could not see and had no idea where my next step would be. By the grace of God, I was rejoining always as You kept opening doors to minister Your salvation, healing, deliverance, and revival in so many different ways. And now I’m rejoicing always that I’m home again, resting up a little for my next adventure of faith with You. And I’m continuing to pray for the people and the nations of Pakistan and India to know peace and even to know the One who alone can bring true peace as the Prince of Peace, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords (Isaiah 9:6; Revelation 19:16). As I left Pakistan, I was so blessed to hear these final words from the Immigration Agent as he stamped my passport and released me to go home, “Pakistan loves America.” That seemed to me to be an affirmation from You and You love me in this mission You sent me on with Your heart for the people of this nation. For as Your Word declares, You have not left Yourself without a witness in any nation (Acts 14:17) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, May 8, 2025 - “Wars and Rumors of Wars” Where I am in the World, but Trusting in Jesus Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are my Rock and Refuge, never failing, strong and mighty. As I begin my day, I listen for Your leading (John 10:27). ... As I begin my morning in the country of Pakistan, I’m mindful of the attacks taking place on the border between India and Pakistan, what’s been called an “act of war.” Your Word comes to mind: “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. ... “But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:6-14). Lord, even use these tensions in the world to draw people to You. You are the Solid Rock. You are our Secure Refuge. There is no other (Acts 4:12). In You, we need not fear. In You, we are not dependent upon the outcomes of the threats and battles of this world.  As You said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Though my phone is blowing up with texts and emails from friends from around the world who know I’m in Pakistan during these suddenly exciting days, I am at peace because I am in You. By Your grace, I am embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit, continuing the mission for which You sent me as Your “ambassador for Christ” in Karachi, Lahore, Pattoki and all along the way with Your words of healing and hope, spirit and life in every way You would use me as Your servant, disciple, and friend (2 Corinthians 5:20; John 13:16 and 15:15). Take this sudden turn of events and turn it all around to open hearts to You and the security of peace only You can bring—Prince of Peace, King of Kings, Lord of Lords (Isaiah 9:6; Relation 19:16). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, May 6, 2025 - Setting Captives Free in Jesus’ Name!

 

Morning by Morning, May 6, 2025 - Setting Captives Free in Jesus’ Name! Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be at the center of my heart and thoughts, all that I am and all that I’ll do this day (Colossians 3:3). ... “Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed in his right mind” (Mark 5:15). Lord Jesus, You are “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). You are still healing the broken-hearted and setting captives free through the power of Your name and Your Holy Spirit through Your Body of Christ today (Luke 4:18; John 20:21; Mark 16:17-18). On our first night of ministry in Karachi, Pakistan, a woman came up for personal prayer ministry after the message You gave me for healing and hope. Praying for her, she buckled at her knees; and I thought at first she was “resting” in the Spirit. But soon she was twisting and turning, making snarling noises and even clawed a fingernail into my arm. She was not “resting” in the Holy Spirit, but fighting by the spirits that sought to control her and hold her captive from receiving the love and power of God in the mighty name of Jesus. But You gave me the strong sense to persevere through the battle, calmly asserting the authority of Your name over all that tormented her and tried to keep her from the Presence of Your love and all You had for her. In time, all her body relaxed and truly rested, as I gently prayed over her and then went on to pray for others. Not much later, we stood together to celebrate what God had done for her. Her face radiated a smile of deep tranquility, peace, and freedom—“restored to (her) right mind.” Praise God! All glory to You! What a wonderful start for these days of ministry in Pakistan! May You continue to give me Your words to speak, Your love to share, everywhere You send me in the authority of Your name and power of Your love. Freely we receive and freely we give (Matthew 10:8). Through all Your disciples, led by Your Spirit, compelled by Your love, may the world see that You are “the same yesterday, today, and forever!” That Jesus is alive as Savior and Healer for all who would come and embrace the love and grace of God! (John 3:16) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
