Morning by Morning, October 13, 2025 – Volunteering Willingly for Army of the Lord Good morning, Lord Jesus. Centered in You, in the communion of prayer, I’m waiting for the leading of Your Spirit — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... As I wait, I have a picture coming into my mind of an army, like the armies of old with armor and swords, helmets and shields. They are shining with brilliant light, with red crosses emblazed on their silver breastplates and red crosses lifted high on their bright banners. In their faces, I see both men and women, even young warriors. But instead of a fierceness, I see smiles and sense joy. ... What comes to my heart is this: “Their joy is not that they are going into battle. Their joy is that they are following Me. For My army obeys My command and follows were I lead. My army willingly volunteers and gladly follows, trusting the Promise of My Word, ‘Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!’” ... Yes, Lord. Fill me with that joy as I volunteer willingly, freely, gladly to follow You into any battle, wherever You lead, trusting You give us the victory. Now this Word comes to mind from Your Scripture in confirmation of the word I believe I’m hearing and seeing with my heart: “The Lord says to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool.’ The Lord sends out from Zion Your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of Your foes. Your people will offer themselves willingly on the day You lead your forces on the holy mountains. From the womb of the morning, like dew, Your youth will come to You’” (Psalm 110:1-3 NRSV). In this Psalm of David, he is writing of our Father God speaking to the Son of God, speaking of the forces of the army of the Son of God. They will volunteer freely and You will lead them into battle. Even the youth will arise to volunteer willingly on the day of battle. Your forces, Your people of Your army will not be conscripted or drafted against their will, forced to take a stand or made to march into battle. No, they are the army of the Lord! They are those who choose willingly, freely, boldly to be a part of Your victory of Your Light over the darkness, Your Love over hatred, Your Spirit over the spirits of this broken, fallen world blinded by the enemy of our souls to Your mercy and love for all who would turn to You. Their Love is more fierce than an army with banners! (Song of Solomon 6:4) Their joy is both contagious and dangerous — contagious to all who will look and see and put their trust in the Lord; dangerous to all the forces of evil and hordes of hell, for in the Presence of the Lord there is the fullness of joy! (Psalm 16:11) It’s Your Very Presence who abides at the head of this Army as the Commander and Chief. And the very gates of hell cannot prevail against Your people, Your church, Your army, shining with the Light of Your Glory! (Matthew 16:18) Yes, there’s an army rising up! There’s a stirring in hearts across this land, throughout this earth, to arise and shine for our Light has come and the glory of Lord is rising upon us! (Isaiah 60:1) I’m joining Your army of joy, the army of the Lord. I’m volunteering willing, freely to be made ready, equipped and empowered, for the day of battle! Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:57) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, October 10, 2025 – “One with Him in Spirit” Good morning, Lord Jesus. One with my Father, One with the Holy Spirit, thank You for desiring to be one with me (John 17:20-23). ... “But whoever is united with the Lord is one with Him in spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17 NIV). As phrased in The Living Bible version, “But if you give yourself to the Lord, you and Christ are joined together as one person.” As best as I can and all by Your grace, I give myself to You, Lord. I surrender my heart to Your Heart, my thoughts to Your Thoughts, my desires to Your Desires. As I behold You, as I look to You, as I surrender and yield and submit and give myself to You, You move in me, changing me to become more like You: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:17-18). As phrased in The Living Bible version, “We can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him” (2 Corinthians 3:17-18 TLB) Be at work within me, Holy Spirit of God. Make me more like Jesus each day. Little by little, step by step, morning by morning, moment by moment, let the Promise of this Word be fulfilled in me: “Christ in (me), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27) — Your glory and goodness and character being developed in me for Your glory to shine through me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, October 9, 2025 – “By This We Know that We Know” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your voice, as You said in Your Word, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). ... “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:3-6). I want to know that I know You. And You’ve given us a way to discern the truth: Am I keeping Your commandments? Am I walking just as Your walked? You call me in love to walk in love, to let “the love of God” be “perfected” in me. You declared, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-25). It’s a journey, but I must be on that journey. It’s not done in a moment, but every moment I must be pursuing You and this goal of You forming Your character in mine, Your nature in mine, Your love in me. Some would say obedience is an Old Testament thing, something that the Law, not grace, demands. But Your Word says it’s also a New Testament thing. You said, “If You love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him” (John 14:21). I thank You that the same grace that saves me is the same grace that empowers me to obey You, to follow You, to walk as You walked. You’ve saved me and now You’re sanctifying me — me and every son and daughter of our Father God called by Your name, disciples of Jesus, seeking to be empowered by Your Holy Spirit to become more like You each day, speaking out Your name, listening for Your voice to come follow You. Lead on, Lord Jesus, as You give me the power of Your grace to follow in love, to trust and obey, this day and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, October 8, 2025 – The Feast of Tabernacles Fulfilled in Jesus Good morning, Lord Jesus. Put Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your words in my mouth, as I seek You and seek to follow You today (1 John 4:17). ... On the cycles of the Biblical Calendar, we’ve entered the season of the Feast of Tabernacles — now fulfilled in Jesus Christ — along with all the feasts and prophecies of the Word of God (Matthew 5:17). As with all the other feasts of the Old Covenant, they are all pointing to You and ultimately fulfilled in You. They all “testify of (You)” (John 5:39). This feast is no different: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (literally, “tabernacled” among us), and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). This Feast of Tabernacles was set forth as one of the “appointed festivals of the Lord,” to be celebrated as “a statute forever in your generations” in the prophetic feasts of Leviticus 23 — to be lived out by Israel in the natural realm of the Old Covenant in the Law and now lived out in the Spirit by all the Body of Christ in the spiritual realm of our New Covenant in Christ: “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it. ‘These are the feasts of the Lord which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering and a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, everything on its day — besides the Sabbaths of the Lord, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings which you give to the Lord. “Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the Lord for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest. And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.’ So Moses declared to the children of Israel the feasts of the Lord” (Leviticus 23:33-44). Come “tabernacle among us” Lord Jesus. Come fill the “tabernacle” of our hearts with Your Spirit. Come pour out Your Holy Fire on the offerings of our hearts. We offer to You our bodies “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God” as our spiritual act of worship (Romans 12:1). We celebrate the Feast of Your Presence tabernacling with us, even within us, now and always (Matthew 28:20; Romans 8:9). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
