Morning by Morning, November 6, 2025 – Horses and Chariots of Fire! — Spiritual Eyes Open to See the Presence and Power of God   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day. ...   “When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. ‘Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?’ the servant asked.   “‘Don’t be afraid,’ the prophet answered. ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’   “And Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.’ Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha!   “As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, ‘Strike this army with blindness.’ So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked” (2 Kings 6:15-18).   Some days we get up and look out of our window or get up and look out into our future or get up and look out into our problems and we feel “surrounded.” We feel “afraid.” We feel like the enemy of our souls is about to win another battle in another wave of relentless assaults to “steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10).   Some days his strength seems stronger and his armies seem bigger. And like Elisha’s servant, we cry out, “Oh no, my Lord! What shall we do!” ...   But the truth is One greater! There is One stronger! “Greater is the One who is in us than the one who is in the world!” (1 John 4:4) But the truth is we need You to open our eyes to see the truth, to know Your Presence, to know Your provision, Your protection, Your plan, even Your purpose to turn around the attacks of our enemy to increase our faith and trust in You. To prepare us for the battles to come from a place in our hearts of knowing You’re with us, always with us, never leaving us, never forsaking us, but empowering us to overcome!   With Your angelic armies, with Your Holy Fire of the Holy Spirit of the Living God burning in us, Your “Chariots of Fire” are all around us! As the worship song declares in trusting, bold proclamation of faith, “It may look like I’m surrounded, but I’m surrounded by You!”   Open our eyes that we may see! Open our spiritual eyes to see the Presence and power of our God! Let “the eyes of (our) heart be enlightened in order that (we) may know the hope to which (You) have called (us), the glorious inheritance in (Your) holy people, and (Your) incomparably great power for us who believe!” (Ephesians 1:18-19). “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Corinthians 15:57). Morning by Morning, November 5, 2025 – “Overflow”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. You’re on Your throne in Heaven, be on Your throne in my heart. ...   As I wait for the leading of Your Spirit, I hear a word in my heart: “Overflow.” ...   And this thought forms in my mind: “What You’re pouring into me overflows through me.” ...   And this written Word in confirmation of Your spoken word:   “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ By this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified” (John 7:37-39).   Where Jesus is glorified, the Holy Spirit flows and overflows. When those who thirst for Your Presence are filled up with rivers of Your Living Water, the Living Water of Your Spirit flows in and overflows out of their hearts.   Flow into me Holy Spirit. You are “the Spirit of Christ” in my heart, flowing and overflowing out of my heart (Romans 8:9). And in a sense, If I’m not moved to thirst for Your Presence, if I don’t take time to open up my heart for You to fill up my heart in Your Presence, there’s nothing flowing in and nothing overflowing out.   Fill me up, Lord. Here in Your Presence, may I “be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). Let a River of Life — Your Life in me, Living Water in me, Christ in me — flow into me and overflow out of me this day and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, November 4, 2025 – “We Know that We Know Him”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, come rule and reign in my heart right here, right now and throughout every moment of my day. ...   “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:1-6).   I want to be counted among those who can say, “We know that we know Him.” That I can say, “I know that I know Him.” That I can say to You, “I know that I know You.”   Your Word gives us the test to discern the truth: “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments” (v. 3). And Your Word gives us a warning not to “candy-coat” the truth, not to “dumb-down” the requirement of authentic discipleship, not to “rationalize” away Your standard of an honest relationship, not to “excuse” any lack of spiritual intimacy with the One who is both our Savior from hell but also our Lord of our lives, and not to “exchange” head knowledge of doctrinal truth for a “heart encounter” of abiding in You and allowing You to abide in us every moment of every day on our spiritual journey with You.   Show me Your commandments. Write them on my heart. Seal them in my soul. Empower me by Your grace to live them out in my life with the choices I make, the words I speak, the actions I take. For “He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (v. 4). “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (v. 6).   Yes, it’s all about love. Because “God is Love” (1 John 4:16). You are Love; and knowing You as I am known by You is an expression and experience and encounter with Love. But according to Your Word, this relationship of love is also a relationship of obedience. This obedience to You begins and ends with love, with love that’s expressed in obedience. “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments” (1 John 5:3).   This kind of love, this depth of true relationship with the One who is Love, requires more than a feeling, more than an emotion, more than an affirmation of my mind and correct doctrines of truth in my head. This kind of love requires me to keep Your Word and obey Your Commandments by the power of Your grace. “Whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him” (1 John 2:5).   As You said long ago, You continue to say today to all who have ears to hear: “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15).   Yes, it’s all by Your grace. Apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). But when we love You and allow You to love us, we are not apart from You. You abide right here within us (John 15:4). And Your grace is sufficient to empower us to desire to love You and obey You, giving us the right desire and all the power to “walk just as (You) walked” (1 John 2:6) that we can say in truth, “We know that we know Him,”  “We know that we know You” (1 John 2:3). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
