Morning by Morning, March 25 - The Holy Spirit Falls Upon All Who Hear the Word of Faith   Good morning, Lord Jesus. My Lord and Savior, “Lord of all,” be Lord of all of my life and every moment of my day (Acts 10:36). ...   “Then Peter began to speak to them: ‘I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him. You know the message He sent to the people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ-He is Lord of all. That message spread throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. We are witnesses to all that He did both in Judea and in Jerusalem. They put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree; but God raised Him on the third day and allowed Him to appear, not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One ordained by God as Judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.’ While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard the word” (Acts 10:34-44).   Just as “the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard the word” that day, Your Holy Spirit stills falls upon all who hear Your word today. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).   Your Holy Spirit gives us faith to believe the truth, faith to believe Your word, faith to believe You. For You are the Truth (John 14:6). And You are the Word (John 1:1). You are both the Source and the Object of our faith, the “Author and Finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV).   Then with Your Spirit in us and with our faith in You, we enter into the kingdom of God and “the kingdom of God is within (us)” (Luke 17:21 NKJV). “For the kingdom of God is ... righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).   This kingdom of God within us is a “kingdom of faith,” a kingdom that’s founded and grounded within us by our faith in You. As expressed in The Message Version of Ephesians Chapter 2:   “That’s plain enough, isn’t it? (We’re) no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now (our) home country. (We’re) no longer strangers or outsiders. We belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all--irrespective of how we got here--in what He is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now He’s using (us), fitting (us) in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the Cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day--a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home” (Ephesians 2:19-22 MSG).   Thank You for Your faith that comes by hearing, that comes by Your Holy Spirit bringing Your word of faith into my heart. “The word of faith is near (us), on (our) lips and in (our) heart,” that is the word of faith that we proclaim; because if (we) confess with (our) lips and believe in (our) heart that God raised (Jesus Christ) from the dead, (we) will be saved” (Romans 10:8-9). Angels Among Us - March 24, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, March 24 - Angels Among Us   Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I lift up my eyes and open up my heart, I draw near to You and You draw near to me. Just as Your Word invites every one of us in every moment, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). ...   This morning I’m remembering something one of our young grandsons said the other morning when he was waking up at our home. He told us that as he was looking at the doorway to my home office, he caught a glimpse of the image of an angel standing at the door! He said he saw the outline of his left wing and side of his head. He was very large and seemed very strong. Amen! Glory to God!   Your Word comes to mind to confirm his experience:   “Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)   Thank You, Lord, for Your holy angels among us. They lift up; they watch over us to protect us, as we trust in You and You send them forth on our behalf in so many ways we don’t always know and don’t always see:   “Because you have made the Lord your refuge,     the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you,     no scourge come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you     to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up,     so that you will not dash your foot against a stone” (Psalm 91:9-12).   You are my Refuge, Lord. You are my Dwelling Place. And I thank You for commanding Your angels concerning me. Open my eyes to see them. Make my spirit more sensitive to sense their presence, just as I pray You open my eyes to see You and sense Your Presence (Ephesians 1:18).   With all Your angels, I bless You and praise You for Your Presence and theirs in my life:   “Bless the Lord, O you His angels,     you mighty ones who do His bidding,     obedient to His spoken word. Bless the Lord, all His hosts,     His ministers that do His will. Bless the Lord, all His works,     in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul” (Psalm 103:20-22).   In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Worthy of All Praise - March 23, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, March 23 - Worthy of All Praise   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Name above all names, worthy of all praise, I open my heart and commit my life to You today. ...   As I look and listen, a scene from the heavenly realm expressed in Your Word comes into my heart from the Book of Revelation, the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ:   “Then I saw in the right hand of the One seated on the throne a scroll written on the inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals; and I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, ‘Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?’ And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it. And I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that He can open the scroll and its seven seals.’   “Then I saw between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders a Lamb standing as if it had been slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He went and took the scroll from the right hand of the One who was seated on the throne. When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. They sing a new song:   “You are worthy to take the scroll     and to open its seals, for You were slaughtered and by Your blood You ransomed for God     saints from every tribe and language and people and nation; You have made them to be a kingdom and priests serving our God,     and they will reign on earth.’   “Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders; they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, singing with full voice,   “Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!’   “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing,   “To the One seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”   “And the four living creatures said, ‘Amen!’ And the elders fell down and worshiped” (Revelation 5:1-14).   As I begin my day, I fall down before You and open my heart up to You. For You are worthy of all praise and worthy to be Lord of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! “Soar Above the Storm” - March 22, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, March 22 - “Soar Above the Storm”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Lead me by Your Spirit as I listen with my heart to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...   As I listen in the silence of surrender to Your leading, I believe I hear in my heart Your words to my heart, rising up into the thoughts of my mind:   “Soar above the storm. See with the eyes of heaven. Soak in the presence of God. Speak words of spirit and life. Spend your life on what really matters. Settle for nothing less.”   Yes, Lord. I hear You. You speak and we hear, when we’re living in communion with You (John 10:27). Your children are led by Your Spirit (Romans 8:14). Your words are spirit and they are life (John 6:63). And contained in every word You send forth into my heart is the power and grace to see it fulfilled:   “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,     and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout,     giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes out from My mouth;     it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,     and succeed in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11).   As Mary said the angel, so I say to You, “Here I am, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your words” (Luke 1:38). By the power of Your grace at work within me with all that is needed to bring every word to pass:   May I soar above the storm. May I see with the eyes of heaven. May I soak in the presence of God. May I speak words of spirit and life. May I spend my life on what really matters. And may I settle for nothing less.   As You declared long ago for all with faith to believe Your words, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). “All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23). Lord, let it be so in me today and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
