Morning by Morning, March 24 - Angels Among Us
Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I lift up my eyes and open up my heart, I draw near to You and You draw near to me. Just as Your Word invites every one of us in every moment, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). ...
This morning I’m remembering something one of our young grandsons said the other morning when he was waking up at our home. He told us that as he was looking at the doorway to my home office, he caught a glimpse of the image of an angel standing at the door! He said he saw the outline of his left wing and side of his head. He was very large and seemed very strong. Amen! Glory to God!
Your Word comes to mind to confirm his experience:
“Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)
Thank You, Lord, for Your holy angels among us. They lift up; they watch over us to protect us, as we trust in You and You send them forth on our behalf in so many ways we don’t always know and don’t always see:
“Because you have made the Lord your refuge,
the Most High your dwelling place,
no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
For He will command His angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone” (Psalm 91:9-12).
You are my Refuge, Lord. You are my Dwelling Place. And I thank You for commanding Your angels concerning me. Open my eyes to see them. Make my spirit more sensitive to sense their presence, just as I pray You open my eyes to see You and sense Your Presence (Ephesians 1:18).
With all Your angels, I bless You and praise You for Your Presence and theirs in my life:
“Bless the Lord, O you His angels,
you mighty ones who do His bidding,
obedient to His spoken word.
Bless the Lord, all His hosts,
His ministers that do His will.
Bless the Lord, all His works,
in all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul” (Psalm 103:20-22).
