Morning by Morning, March 22 - “Soar Above the Storm”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Lead me by Your Spirit as I listen with my heart to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...
As I listen in the silence of surrender to Your leading, I believe I hear in my heart Your words to my heart, rising up into the thoughts of my mind:
“Soar above the storm.
See with the eyes of heaven.
Soak in the presence of God.
Speak words of spirit and life.
Spend your life on what really matters.
Settle for nothing less.”
Yes, Lord. I hear You. You speak and we hear, when we’re living in communion with You (John 10:27). Your children are led by Your Spirit (Romans 8:14). Your words are spirit and they are life (John 6:63). And contained in every word You send forth into my heart is the power and grace to see it fulfilled:
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return there until they have watered the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall My word be that goes out from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and succeed in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11).
As Mary said the angel, so I say to You, “Here I am, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your words” (Luke 1:38). By the power of Your grace at work within me with all that is needed to bring every word to pass:
May I soar above the storm.
May I see with the eyes of heaven.
May I soak in the presence of God.
May I speak words of spirit and life.
May I spend my life on what really matters.
And may I settle for nothing less.
As You declared long ago for all with faith to believe Your words, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). “All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23). Lord, let it be so in me today and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
