Morning by Morning, February 18, 2025 - “Through Death, Into Life” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I turn my eyes upon You and lift up my spirit to You to watch and wait for Your leading. ... As I wait, I hear in my heart, “Through death, into life.” And this immediately, this Word from Your Scripture: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. ‘Where, O death, is your victory? ‘Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:54-55). Two dear friends have been in the battle with death. One passed on early this morning. The other may be passing any moment now. But death has no victory. Death has no sting. Because they are in You and You are in them, You deliver them out of the grip of death and into Your embrace of eternal life. Your Word says, “The last enemy to be destroyed is death” (1 Corinthians 15:26). And at the end of all things, death and hell will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14). So every day between this day and that day to come, it’s a battle with death, our enemy. It’s a battle with all the manifestations of death of sickness, disease, cancer, war, destruction, and all that is less than the abundance of life You come to give. As You said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that (you) may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). Now, we entrust these loved ones to You, into Your eternal embrace. “To be absent from the body” is “to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Thank You for Your Presence. Thank You for the peace and joy, with no more sorrow, no more pain, abiding in Your Presence forever where there is no more death or anything less than the fullness of the abundance of life we have in You when You are in our hearts and our hearts are given to You (John 3:16). Thank You that that You have eternally declared for all to choose to receive, “I AM the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me will live even though he die. And whoever live and believes in Me shall never die” (John 11:25-26). So as we both grieve the loss of our beloved ones here on this earth, we also celebrate with joy that they stand in Your Presence to receive their “crown of life” You promise to all who love You as they overcome the trials of this world by power of Your grace (James 1:12). Thank You for the eternal declaration of Your Truth for all who pass through death and into life in You: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!” (Romans 8:38-39) In Jesus’ name I pray.
