Morning by Morning, March 5, 2026 — “Take Heart and Fear Not.” Morning by Morning, March 5, 2026 — “Take Heart and Fear Not.” Good morning, Lord Jesus. You’re “Lord of all” (Acts 10:36). Be Lord of all I am, all I’ll do, and all I’ll encounter today. ... In these days of war and threats of terror in retaliation, this word comes to mind: “Take heart and fear not.” ... And Your written Word in confirmation of what I believe I hear in my heart as Your spoken word: “I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). To “take heart” is to trust in You no matter what. To “take heart” is to entrust my heart to Your Heart, my spirit to Your Spirit, my life to Your Life. In this broken and fallen world, we “will have tribulation” until the day You return in Your glory (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). But every day between this day and that day to come, You come in Your glory in our hearts. “Christ in (us), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). As the glory of Your Presence fills our hearts, we “take heart” in You. We trust in You. We overcome whatever “tribulation” we encounter in You. “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Corinthians 15:57) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Morning by Morning, March 4, 2026 — “Strike Terror No More.” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading, seeking to be grounded in Your Word and led by Your Spirit—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... As I wait, what comes up from my spirit and into my mind is this phrase: “Strike terror no more.” ... And this Passage of Scripture ending with the Words of this Declaration: “Rise up, O Lord; O God, lift up Your hand;    do not forget the oppressed. Why do the wicked renounce God    and say in their hearts, ‘You will not call us to account’? But You do see! Indeed, You note trouble and grief,    that You may take it into Your hands; the helpless commit themselves to You;    You have been the helper of the orphan. Break the arm of the wicked and evildoers;    seek out their wickedness until You find none. The Lord is king forever and ever;    the nations shall perish from His land. O Lord, You will hear the desire of the meek;    You will strengthen their heart; You will incline Your ear to do justice for the orphan and the oppressed,    so that those from earth may strike terror no more” (Psalm 18:12-18). We are witnessing in our world an historic, heroic confrontation of evil. With their arms and armaments, designed to inflict terror and fear and intimidation in our world, You have inclined Your ear to “do justice,” to “break the arm of the wicked and evildoers,” until they “strike terror no more,” until “You find none.” Ultimately, our battle is not against human flesh and blood, but the spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Ultimately, the weapons of our warfare are not earthly weapons, but heavenly weapons, that bring down strongholds of wickedness, evil, and terror (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). And in these battles, You use the means You chose, calling us to pray for those making decisions and enforcing Your justice in our world (Romans 13:3-4). Courage is always costly. Security often requires sacrifice. But You move in power on behalf of those who “commit themselves to You.” As You “Rise up, O Lord,” as You “lift up Your hand” in these days of confrontation, may Your Spirit grant wisdom and discernment in every decision. And may we come into agreement across our nation and in the nations of our world that “the wicked and evildoers” must “strike terror no more.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, March 3, 2026 — Day of Purim in Biblical Persia and Today Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill my heart, fill my life, with Your words of spirit and life—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ... Last night and today is the celebration of Purim, from the biblical account of the story of Queen Esther of Persia—which is modern day Iran. In those days, the Prime Minister of the kingdom of Persia sought to destroy all Jewish people. But his plans of evil to curse the Jewish people were turned around in a stunning victory of blessing for the people of God. Their sorrow was turned to joy, their day of mourning was turned to a day of celebration: “As the days on which the Jews got relief from their enemies, and as the month that had been turned for them from sorrow into gladness and from mourning into a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, days for sending gifts of food to one another and gifts to the poor.... “For Haman the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast pur (that is, cast lots), to crush and to destroy them. But when it came before the king, he gave orders in writing that his evil plan that he had devised against the Jews should return on his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows. Therefore they called these days Purim, after the term pur” (Esther 9:22-26). It is said that the political and religious ruler of the kingdom of Persia—modern day Iran—was within a month of having a nuclear weapon to unleash against his sworn enemies of Israel and the United States. Those plans have been turned around in stunning victory. Today, not only Jewish people but also the Iranian citizens are celebrating this reversal of evil for good, from mourning to joy. But all is not over. And we continue to pray for all who are being subjected to indiscriminate retaliation by the next level of leadership of this regime of terror and all who are bravely fighting this war for freedom and security. May You even use this turmoil to turn hearts to You in this hour of our desperate need of You. You are both the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29) and also the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5). As both Lamb and Lion, You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:16). Come rule and reign in these matters, giving Your wisdom and guidance, Your protection and victory, confronting evil and establishing good (Romans 13:3-4; Psalm 91:1-16). Come turn sorrow to joy and mourning to celebration, as we pray Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is heaven (Matthew 6:10). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, February 24, 2026 — Overcoming Regrets Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be at the center of my heart and in the middle of every moment of my day. ... Sometimes I catch myself thinking of the regrets of my past. Probably “regrets” are just a manifestation of past sins, past failures, past mistakes. But You’re always so kind to come to my rescue. You’re always so loving to remind me of Your mercy and love, Your forgiveness and grace. In the battles of my mind against the accuser of my soul, You often speak into my spirit one of my favorite anchors of hope from the Word of God: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;    His mercies never come to an end; They are new every morning;    great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23). Through repentance and prayer, You remove my regrets and reassure me of Your forgiveness of my sins. Through taking those thoughts captive and bringing them into submission to the obedience of Christ, You silence the voice of my accuser in the authority I have in the name of Jesus and the power of the blood of Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Revelation 12:11). Thank You for Your steadfast love. It never ceases. Thank You for Your mercies. They never come to an end. They’re new every morning. Thank You for the gift of repentance and prayer, such a powerful means of Your grace, that renews a right spirit within me and restores unto me the joy of my salvation (Psalm 51:1-12). Great is Your faithfulness! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
