Morning by Morning, March 4, 2026 — “Strike Terror No More.”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading, seeking to be grounded in Your Word and led by Your Spirit—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...
As I wait, what comes up from my spirit and into my mind is this phrase: “Strike terror no more.” ...
And this Passage of Scripture ending with the Words of this Declaration:
“Rise up, O Lord; O God, lift up Your hand; do not forget the oppressed. Why do the wicked renounce God and say in their hearts, ‘You will not call us to account’? But You do see! Indeed, You note trouble and grief, that You may take it into Your hands; the helpless commit themselves to You; You have been the helper of the orphan. Break the arm of the wicked and evildoers; seek out their wickedness until You find none. The Lord is king forever and ever; the nations shall perish from His land. O Lord, You will hear the desire of the meek; You will strengthen their heart; You will incline Your ear to do justice for the orphan and the oppressed, so that those from earth may strike terror no more” (Psalm 18:12-18).
We are witnessing in our world an historic, heroic confrontation of evil. With their arms and armaments, designed to inflict terror and fear and intimidation in our world, You have inclined Your ear to “do justice,” to “break the arm of the wicked and evildoers,” until they “strike terror no more,” until “You find none.”
Ultimately, our battle is not against human flesh and blood, but the spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Ultimately, the weapons of our warfare are not earthly weapons, but heavenly weapons, that bring down strongholds of wickedness, evil, and terror (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). And in these battles, You use the means You chose, calling us to pray for those making decisions and enforcing Your justice in our world (Romans 13:3-4).
Courage is always costly. Security often requires sacrifice. But You move in power on behalf of those who “commit themselves to You.” As You “Rise up, O Lord,” as You “lift up Your hand” in these days of confrontation, may Your Spirit grant wisdom and discernment in every decision. And may we come into agreement across our nation and in the nations of our world that “the wicked and evildoers” must “strike terror no more.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
