Morning by Morning, April 15, 2026 — Jesus Said, “I AM.” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ... “Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.’ Then they took up stones to throw at Him” (John 8:58-59). They took up stones to stone You to death because they knew Who You were claiming to be—the Eternal One, the One who spoke to Moses from the burning bush, declaring Your name, “I AM WHO I AM.... The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.... This is My name forever” (Exodus 3:14-15). You walked this earth, as the eternal Word of God, yet humbled in the likeness of human flesh and blood, to reveal Your nature and Your will in our world through a life of love and truth, lived among us and sacrificed for us, as our Messiah, the Christ  (John 1:14 and 4:26; Philippians 2:5-11).   In the security of Your identity, You declared for all to hear and know, to believe and receive: “I am the Bread of Life” (John 6:48); “I am the Light of the World” (John 8:12); “I am the Gate” (John 10:9); “I am the Good Shepherd” (John 10:11); “I am the Resurrection and the Life” (John 11:26); “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6); and “I am the Vine” (John 15:5).   You said, “I AM.” And I believe You are. You are One with the Father, one with the Holy Spirit (John 14:11, 16-17, 23). You are the great “I AM” and You are All we need, our Great All in All (Exodus 3:14; Colossians 3:11).   Lord Jesus, be my Bread, be my Light, be my Gate, be my Good Shepherd, be my Resurrection and Life, be my Way, my Truth, my Life, be my Vine. Be my All in All. Be the Source of all I am and all I need, as I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that You are Lord of all (Romans 10:9). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Morning by Morning, April 14, 2026 — God’s Government of Both Peace and Justice Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, come rule and reign in my heart and life, in my nation and in the nations of this world, today and every day (Revelation 19:16). ... “And the government will be upon His shoulder.... “Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this” (Isaiah 9:6-7). This Prophecy of Isaiah speaks of a government that expresses Your heart and Your will for our world. It’s a government that will “increase” and that will have “no end.” And it shall be established in both “order” and “peace,” through both “judgement and justice.” Only Your “zeal” can “perform this.” Only You can do this. Only in the way and in the time You choose. The One who will establish His government in our world is also the One who desires to establish His government in our hearts and lives as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For these prophetic words of governmental authority and governmental order in our world speak of the One who is the Governor of the Government of God: “And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). In both the Spirit of Counsel and the Spirit of Might, in both the love of our Father and the Author of Peace, You desire to set things right in both “judgment and justice,” as well as mercy and love. This is “The Spirit of the Lord” that’s expressed in the heart and in the actions of the One who is Ruler of All: “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist” (Isaiah 11:1-5). Give us Your heart, Lord. And give our leaders Your heart, Lord. As much as it seems impossible, give the leaders of our world Your heart, Lord. Our part is to pray, as You commanded us to say, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven.... For Yours is the kingdom and power and the glory forever. Amen” (Matthew 6:9-13). In our prayer for Your will in our hearts and in our leaders’ hearts and in the hearts of the leaders of this world, we prayerfully, prophetically look forward to the day when the fullness of Your Word is fulfilled: “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15) In Jesus’ name I pray. Morning by Morning, April 13, 2026 — Weary, Wounded, Wandering, but Looking to the One Who’s Already Won the Victory for Us Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading, to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ... “Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Corinthians 15:57) Sometimes we don’t always feel victorious. Despite our confidence in our ever-secure identity in Christ, our dependence upon the power and the presence of the ever-abiding Holy Spirit, and our trusting surrender of all of our lives into the embrace of our ever-loving Father, we don’t always seem to be experiencing the fullness of all we know to be true. Sometimes, down inside, the truth be told, we can be weary or wounded or wayward. As it turns out, we still need You every moment of every hour of every day. As it turns out, no matter the force of our declarations or the boldness of our faith, we need You in every place of our mind and will and emotions, of our spirit and soul and body, with every dimension of our being surrendering and trusting and embracing every Dimension of Your Being. For apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). So when we are weary, we look to the One who is our strength. When we are wounded, we trust in the One who heals the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. When we are wayward, we seek the things which are above instead of below, leaning on You and not our own understanding, that You can order our steps and set us back on the path that leads to life and victory in You. When we’re weary or wounded or wayward, we’re in great position to humble our hearts again to the One who gives us the victory You’ve already won. In that humility of willingly choosing to be desperately dependent upon You alone, we can declare Your Truth with one of most victorious saints of God and spiritual leader who ever lived: “When I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10). As You said to Paul— “in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake”—so You say to each of us: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9a). As Paul responded, may we respond, “that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9b). In my battles, I’m looking to the One who’s already won the victory for me. I’m looking to the One who declares “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us!” (Romans 8:37) In all these things, we are overcomers and not overcome; we are the victors and not the victim. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17). “Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Corinthians 15:57) In Jesus’ name I pray. Morning by Morning, April 8, 2026 — Seeking True Peace Good morning, Lord Jesus. I seek Your face and listen for Your leading to begin my day, as every day on my Morning by Morning journey of prayer with You—embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ... With all the world, I breathe a bit of a sigh of relief for the attempt of peace in the Middle East. I join in the agreement of prayer with all who seek the wisdom of the One who is our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). Your desire is to give us Your peace, true peace, not as the world gives peace. As You said long ago, You still speak today: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). That kind of peace is not appeasement. That kind of peace is not a temporary cessation of hostilities. That kind of peace is peace that comes from the Spirit of the One abiding in the hearts and minds, changing hearts and minds, of those who truly seek You and their “Prince of Peace.” Your peace is not passive. Your peace is not complacent. Your peace is not deceived, manipulated, or fooled. Your peace is alive and active, “living and powerful, and shaper than any two-edged sword” like the word of God that reveals “the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). In this way, Your true peace also carries Your “sword.” As You also said long ago and also still speak today: “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword” (Matthew 10:34). You did not come to bring the pacifistic peace of the world that chooses the compromise of conscience, passivity of cowardice, unwilling and afraid to risk confrontation to injustice, persecution, tyranny, or terror. While You are “the Lamb of God who takes aways the sin of the world” (John 1:29), You’re also “the Lion of the Tribe of Judah” (Revelation). While You are “the Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6), You’re also a warrior, for “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name” (Exodus 15:3). “The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies” (Isaiah 42:13). We are to seek to be like You (1 John 4:17). We are to have Your mind and heart, Your wisdom and ways (Philippians 2:5). And all of this is You, in the fullness of every dimension of Your Being. Not just one part or one way or the world’s way or the world’s view of Your way. You abound in mercy, but You are also righteous in judgment (Psalm 116:5), and “mighty in battle” (Psalm 24:8). We will only know when to lay down our lives and our weapons and know when to stand and fight when we know the One who is our Peace in our hearts. Then we will be led by Your Spirit rather than our flesh or the spirits of this world. Then we will be led by wisdom from above rather than the wisdom of this world below (James 3:17). Then we will be followers of Christ, filled with the Spirit of Christ, standing firm in Your truth as salt and light in our world (John 10:27; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 6:11; Matthew 5:13-16). Not with false peace, but true peace. Not the peace of the world, but the peace of Christ: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Yes, Lord Jesus. Only in You do we have true peace. So I join in the agreement of prayer with all who are praying throughout the world for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2). And I join in the agreement of prayer that those ruling in authority would know You and the peace of Christ that only You can give, living by the leading of the Spirit of the One who is our True Peace. May they lead with wisdom and courage, in humility and faith: “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil” (Romans 13:3-4). As they say, “No Jesus; no peace. Know Jesus; know Peace.” May our leaders and rulers know You and Your peace. May we all know You and Your peace—“the peace that surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7), the true peace that only You can give. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
