Morning by Morning, April 30, 2026 — “Here I Am, Lord”

 

Morning by Morning, April 30, 2026 — “Here I Am, Lord” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day speaking out Your name and listening up for Your leading. ... “I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me’” (Isaiah 6:8). When Isaiah heard Your voice of Your calling and responded in faith to Your commissioning, he had encountered Your Presence: “For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” (v. 5) Morning by Morning, I seek an encounter with You, my King. Moment by moment, I seek to live in Your Presence. Spirit to Spirit, heart to Heart, deep crying out to Deep, I seek to abide in You as You abide in me (John 15:4). I seek to open the temple of my heart to be filled with Your Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16). I seek to be ready and willing to hear and obey Your calling and commissioning to go where You send me and fulfill what You’ve purposed for me—as best as I can and all by Your grace. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14). The words of an old hymn that I heard during the time of my calling from living out my career as a trial lawyer to embracing my new calling into full-time ministry over thirty years ago are coming again to my heart this morning: I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard My people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin, My hand will save. I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear My light to them? Whom shall I send?   Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.   I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will send the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide, Till their hearts be satisfied. I will give My life to them. Whom shall I send?   Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.   I, the Lord of snow and rain, I will break their hearts of stone, Give them hearts for love alone. I will speak My word to them. Whom shall I send?   Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart. Yes, Lord. Here I am, Lord. Send me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, April 29, 2026 — Planting or Watering, to be “Found Faithful” Working and Laboring for the Glory of God by the Grace of God Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look to You and listen for Your voice and follow Your leading (John 10:27). ... “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor” (1 Corinthians 3:5-8). Sometimes we plant. Sometimes we water. But You are always the One who gives the increase. We’re coming to the time when all that has been planted and all that has been watered is increasing to the time of harvest. And so we’re coming to the time when “each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor” (v. 8). This spiritual Truth is not speaking of our salvation. For we are not saved by our works, but by our personal relationship of trust and surrender to You. “For by grace (we) have been saved through faith, and that not of (ourselves); it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8). And at the same time, our works, our labors, our living out our faith in the grace we have received matter. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). So, in preparation for the great harvest to come, the great harvest at hand, I pray for the grace to “be found faithful” in You, to “be found faithful” to You (1 Corinthians 4:2). Whether planting or watering, whether sowing or reaping, may You increase Your Spirit in me and give the increase to all You desire to do through me. As “servants of Christ ... each one’s praise will come from God” (1 Corinthians 4:1-5). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, April 28, 2026 — “Radiant”

 

Morning by Morning, April 28, 2026 — “Radiant” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me begin my day grounded in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... As I wait for Your leading, this word comes to mind: “Radiant.” ... And now this Scripture: “Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy...” (Isaiah 60:5). When we “see,” we become “radiant.” When we see You. When we see who You are and see all You’ve done and see all You’re doing. When we see You in the midst of us, no matter what we’re going through, no matter what’s going on in us or around us—seeing that You’re with us, never leaving us, never forsaking us, but empowering us and pouring out Your grace into us and for us. For “If God is for us, who can be against us!” (Romans 8:31) To be “radiant” is to shine with the light of Your glory. And the light of Your glory is Your manifest Presence abiding within us, shining through us. To be “radiant” is to radiate Your light, Your love, Your power, Your Presence into our world. You said You are the light of the world (John 8:12); and You said we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). That’s because it’s Your light shining in us, Your light shining through us, radiating through those who are radiant with the Presence of Your Spirit abiding in us—“Christ in (us), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). That’s part of what You meant, I believe, when You said to “let (our) light so shine before men, that they may see (our) good works and glorify (our) Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Our “good works” are letting the light of the glory of God shine through us, radiating Your nature, Your character, Your heart, Your will through us into our world. We are in You; and You are in us, so that we “shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15)—radiant with the light of Your glory. So by the power of Your grace moving in me, shining through me, may I join with all Your sons and daughters of God to “Arise, shine; for (our) light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon (us)!” (Isaiah 60:1) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, April 27, 2026 — “Sow to the Spirit” and “Reap Everlasting Life”

 

Morning by Morning, April 27, 2026 — “Sow to the Spirit” and “Reap Everlasting Life” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be exalted high in the heavens and here in my heart, as I begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ... “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life” (Galatians 6:7-8). According to the spiritual principles of Your Word, we reap what we sow. That’s not just an Old Testament Law, but a New Testament Truth. What we do, what we say, what we fail to do, what we fail to say, make a difference. Not only in the lives of others, but in our lives as well. The seeds we sow will bring forth a harvest. That harvest that comes forth will bear fruit “according to its kind” (Genesis 1:11-12). And I want that harvest to be good and not bad, to be of the Spirit and not of the flesh. I want to sow seeds to the Spirit that produce the harvest of life. So open the open the eyes of my heart to see and open the ears of my spirit to hear where You’re showing me to “sow to the Spirit” and not sow to my flesh today. Let my words, my actions, be sown for Your harvest to grow up and bear fruit in the lives of those You would touch through me and in my life as well—as I reap what I sow, as best as I can and all by the power of Your grace. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
