Morning by Morning, June 4, 2026 — Persevering Faith in Our Ever-Present God Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I come into the communion of prayer with You—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God—I look and listen for Your leading. … This powerful Word of the Promise of Your Presence rises up in my spirit: “But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, And gather you from the west; I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth— Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him” (Isaiah 43:1-7). I am created for Your glory. I am formed and made by You. I am forgiven and freed and redeemed by You. I am loved by You and honored by You. I am blessed and protected and empowered by You. So all my faith, all my trust, all my hope is in You. You are always with me. You’re always reminding me that I’m always with You. And You’re always bringing me through everything I encounter on my journey through this broken and fallen world, even using all I go through to develop my character, to build my faith, to make me more like You each day. It’s part of Your plan and Your process to conform me into the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). For as You are, so am I to be in this world (1 John 4:17). As I keep looking to You, trusting in You, holding on to You as You keep holding on to me, You’re changing me into the character of Your image “from glory to glory,” as I go through challenge after challenge on my journey of faith (2 Corinthians 3:18). When I go “through the waters” You are with me. When I go “through the rivers” You are with me. When I go “through the fire” You are with me. You never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). You’re always with me, always encouraging me, always empowering me. You’re always turning it all around into good for me, no matter how bad it feels, no matter the sources of anything coming against me to try to steal and kill and destroy (Romans 8:28). Your life is being formed in me, even the abundance of all the life You have for me (John 10:10). So I will not be afraid. I will not fear. For You are with me. You always have been and You always will be. And You’re always reminding me that I am Yours, that You are mine, that You love me and call me by name and I am even “precious in (Your) sight” (Isaiah 43:4). O, what a mighty and loving and ever-present God You are! I worship and adore You and entrust all my life to You! For You are worthy of all my faith and trust and hope. You are worthy of all my surrender and all my love! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, June 3, 2026 — “Close the Doors to Distractions” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your leading to begin my day in the communion of prayer with You (John 10:27). … As I wait, I hear these word comes to my heart: “Close the doors to distractions.” … Yes, Lord. And this written Word comes to mind in confirmation and development of what I believe I’m hearing as Your spoken word: “You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things” (2 Timothy 2:1-7). The “distractions” are the entanglements “with the affairs of this life” that steal away my time and dilute my focus and divert my path from what is my calling and commissioning in Your will for my life. Forgive me for when I’ve given in to those distractions. Free me from trifling away my time on meaningless things, even as You allow me the grace of Your rest and renewal. Renew my focus. Reenergize my passion. Realign my heart with Yours, my thoughts with Yours. Shut the doors to my distractions and open the doors to my destiny in You, “that (I) may know what is the hope of (Your) calling” for me in my life during this season (Ephesians 1:18). “For we are (Your) workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which (You) prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, June 2, 2026 — Seeking and Discerning True Peace from False Peace Good morning, Lord Jesus. Put Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your words in my mouth, Your actions in my hands, Your destinations in my feet, as You make me more like You today, conforming me and Your disciples into the image of the son of God—morning by morning and moment by moment, this day and every day (Romans 8:29). … As I wait for the leading of Your Spirit this morning, the efforts and hopes and desires for peace in our world come to mind. And as I join in those prayers for peace, I join with the heart of the One who is the Prince of Peace—our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). And at the same time, I’m mindful of the distinction between true peace and false peace, Your peace and the world’s peace. As You said long ago, You still speak today: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). Your peace is not appeasement. Your peace is not a temporary cessation of hostilities. Your peace is a peace that comes from the Spirit of the One abiding in the hearts and minds, changing hearts and minds, of those who truly seek You as their “Prince of Peace” and submitting to Your authority as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Your peace is not passive. Your peace is not complacent. Your peace is not deceived, manipulated, or fooled. Your peace is alive and active, “living and powerful, and shaper than any two-edged sword” like the word of God that reveals “the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). So grant us and the leaders You have place in positions of authority in our nation and the nations of the earth spiritual discernment and godly wisdom. Grant us the grace of “wisdom that is from above” (James 3:17). Pour out Your Spirit of wisdom (Isaiah 11:2). Your wisdom will bring right discernment. And right discernment will distinguish between true peace and false peace, Your peace and the world’s peace. Your true peace also carries Your “sword.” As You also said long ago and also still speak today: “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword” (Matthew 10:34). You did not come to bring the pacifistic peace of the world that chooses the compromise of conscience, passivity of cowardice, unwilling and afraid to risk confrontation to injustice, persecution, tyranny, or terror. While You are “the Lamb of God who takes aways the sin of the world” (John 1:29), You are also “the Lion of the Tribe of Judah” (Revelation 5:5). While You are “the Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6), You are also a warrior, for “The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name” (Exodus 15:3). “The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies” (Isaiah 42:13). We are to seek to be like You (1 John 4:17), as You are work in us by Your Spirit, conforming us to the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29) and transforming us by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). We are to have Your mind and heart, Your wisdom and ways (Philippians 2:5). And all of this is You, in the fullness of every dimension of Your Being—not just one part or one way or the world’s way or the world’s view of Your way. You abound in mercy, but You are also righteous in judgment (Psalm 116:5), You desire peace but, at the same time, You are also “mighty in battle” (Psalm 24:8). We will only know when to lay down our lives and our weapons and know when to stand and fight when we know the One who is our Peace in our hearts. Then we will be led by Your Spirit rather than our flesh or the spirits of this world. Then we will be led by wisdom from above rather than the wisdom of this world below (James 3:17). Then we will be followers of Christ, filled with the Spirit of Christ, standing firm in Your truth as salt and light in our world (John 10:27; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 6:11; Matthew 5:13-16). Let us hear Your voice (John 10:27) and be led by Your Spirit (Romans 8:14). We pray this for ourselves and for our leaders and for the leaders of our world. Then the ways of the world, then the false forms of fake peace in our world, will not overcome us. For You have overcome the world in Your true peace, just as You said: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). So I join in the agreement of prayer with all who are praying throughout the world for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2). May “the peace of Christ rule in (our) hearts” as we pray for every heart to be turned to You (Colossians 3:15). And I join in the agreement of prayer that those ruling in authority would know You and “the peace of God which surpasses all understanding (to) guard (our) hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). This is the true peace that only You can give. As they say, “No Jesus; no peace. Know Jesus; know Peace.” May our leaders and rulers, along with every one of us, know You and Your peace, Lord Jesus, our “Prince of Peace.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, June 1, 2026 — A New Heaven in the Earth One Day and Also in Our Hearts Today Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day speaking Your name, for there’s power in Your name and peace in Your Presence. … As I wait for Your leading this morning, this Word comes to mind, speaking of a day to come: “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away’” (Revelation 21:1-4). One day heaven will come to earth. No more sorrow. No more pain. Death will be swallowed up in the victory of Life. And nothing will separate us from the love and power and Presence of our God. You will be our God and we will be Your people, and You will dwell among us forever and ever. And, at the same time, we can also embrace Your heaven in us now. As You said long ago, You continue to declare today by Your Spirit to all who have ears to hear and a heart to receive: “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21). We don’t have to wait for the day the New Jerusalem of the Kingdom of God comes down from heaven. And we don’t have to wait to go to heaven when we die. We can have heaven in our hearts today! We can experience and embrace the Kingdom of God within us—right here, right now, this day and every day—as we proclaim You as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in our hearts (1 Timothy 6:15; Revelation 19:16). “For the Kingdom of God is … righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17). Come, Holy Spirit. Establish the Kingdom of God in my heart today. Come, Lord Jesus. Come rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in my heart today. Come, my Heavenly Father. You are our God and we are Your people, as You dwell among and live within us by Your Spirit. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God, You are One and You are holy and You come to establish Your heaven in our hearts every day as a foretaste, as a first-fruits, as a foreshadowing of that great and glorious day to come when the New Jerusalem comes down from heaven in the “new heaven” and “new earth” to come. “Nevertheless we, according to His promises, look for a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells” (2 Peter 3:13). Let it be so in me today. All by the power of Your grace at work within me and within all who are called by Your name and embrace You and Your Kingdom in our hearts. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
