Morning by Morning, June 5, 2026 — “Remember the Goodness of God”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. My Lord and Savior, Lord of my life and Savior of my soul, I open my heart and welcome You into every moment of my day. …
As I wait for the leading of Your Holy Spirit, this comes to my heart:
“Remember the goodness of God.” …
And the Words of David come to mind right away from Psalm 103:
“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:1-5).
Yes, Lord. I remember Your goodness. I forget not all Your benefits. I thank You for every time You have been with me through the battles, You have guided me through the questions, You have encouraged me through the discouragements. You’ve never left me and never forsaken me. You’ve even used all that’s happened to me to develop Your character within me.
And You still are. Just like You’ve been with me “always” in my past, You’ll be with me “always” in my future, and You’re with me “always” right now. Just as You said long ago, You continue to speak to my spirit and to the hearts of all who call on Your name and trust in Your goodness:
“And lo, I AM with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
So my soul blesses You. My soul remembers You and Your goodness and all Your benefits and all Your ever-abiding Presence with me “always.” You’ve “redeemed” me and “renewed” me. And right now You’re reminding me of all Your “lovingkindness” and “tender mercies,” all Your forgiveness and healing, all the ways You “satisfy (me) with good things”—the “good things” that really matter, here in my heart and my personal, intimate, trusting and loving relationship with You morning by morning and moment by moment—just because You’re a good God.
This day, I choose to “remember the goodness of God.” This day, I choose to thank You and praise You and entrust my life to You and to “the goodness of God.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
