Standing Firm in Faith 9-23-05

Good morning, Lord Jesus. Steady my soul upon the Rock of my salvation. By Your grace, I put my hope and my trust in You. ... "There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth distress among the nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will faint from fear and foreboding of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in a cloud' with power and great glory" (Luke 21:25-27). The powers of the heavens are being shaken. The ancient strongholds of the spiritual realm are beginning to crumble under the siege ramp of prayer and the battering ram of repentance. No matter how it may appear in the natural realm, darkness is being overcome by the Light. But our enemy, who is "the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work among those who are disobedient" will fight and retaliate with his last gasps of breath (Ephesians 2:1-2). "Rejoice then you heavens, and those who dwell in them. But woe to the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you with great wrath, because he knows his time is short" (Revelation 12:12). Strengthen us to stand in these dark days where the darkness is growing darker, but at the same time, the Light is shining brighter in the midst of the darkness. "Finally be strong in the Lord. Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm" (Ephesians 6:10-13). As we stand firm in the strength of Your power, no matter what distress and destruction we face in these days, the light of Your glory will shine as a beacon of hope through Your people of faith. "Now in all these things we are more than conquerors, through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:37-39). Give us faith to stand firm in You to the end of days and throughout eternity. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen. Be encouraged this day!
