God’s Power of Love to Bind Up Broken Hearts and Break Off Binding Chains - February 2, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, February 2 - God’s Power of Love to Bind Up Broken Hearts and Break Off Binding Chains Good morning, Lord Jesus. You hold my heart and my life in Your hands -- scarred by the nails, as You poured out Your love for every one of us. ... “And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.... God proves His love for us in that while we were sinners Christ died for us” (Romans 5:5). How great is Your love for us -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. Your love is Your power and Your power is Your love, for You are Love (1 John 4:8). The same power of Your love that forgives us for our sins is also the same power of Your love that heals us from our wounds and frees us from our chains. You bind up broken hearts and Your break off binding chains -- healing the brokenhearted and setting captives free in the power of Your love (Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18). You are “the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Come, Holy Spirit. I open my heart wide to the power of Your love to heal all that needs to be healed, to break all that needs to broken in me. And all You do in me, I pray You will do through me in the power of the love of God today. Freely we receive; and freely we are to give (Matthew 10:8). In very ways You heal us and free us and comfort us, You give us grace to be expressions of Your love as You heal and free and comfort others through us (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Restoring Hearts - January 31, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, January 31 - Restoring Hearts Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:16). Come rule and reign in my heart and my day. ... “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And He will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:5-6). Just like You sent Your Holy Spirit in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare the way of the Lord before Your first coming, so You’re send Your Holy Spirit in the spirit and power of Elijah before Your second coming (Luke 1:17). You’re “preparing the way of the Lord” in our hearts and in the earth. You’re turning hearts and healing hearts. You’re setting hearts free. Your heart is not to curse but to bless. Your heart is to restore and not destroy. You are a Good Father who desires the best in Your children and loves to give the best to Your children (Matthew 7:11). You convict us of our sins to turn us to You in repentance and restoration. You heal us of our wounds so we can love You with all our hearts and love one another as ourselves (John 13:34-25). You set us free from all that would hold us back from being all You created us to be -- free to be like Jesus in our world, with Your character in our hearts and Your authority in our words (1 John 4:17; Romans 8:29; John 20:21). Father, set us free from every curse of everything less than all Your desire for us. Pour out Your blessing of Your Presence and Your favor as Your sons and Your daughters in our world. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs -- heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17). That is who we are; that is who You have created us to be. So at the coming of the Lord -- “the great and dreadful day of the Lord” -- it will be a great day for all who have given their hearts to You, who are restored to You as the children of God to our Father God! And You’re pouring out Your Spirit to turn every heart to You, not willing that any would be left out or left behind (2 Peter 3:9). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Via con Dios! -- Go with God! - January 26, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, January 26 - Via con Dios! -- Go with God! Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me start my day well -- grounded in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit -- to walk with You closely through every moment set before me. ... “These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: ‘Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:5-8 NKJV). Just as You sent out Your first disciples, You are still sending out Your disciples today. As You are, so are we to be in our world (1 John 4:17). By the grace of God and in the plan of God, the same Spirit that raised You from the dead lives in us (Romans 8:11). The same Spirit that moves in the power of God to proclaim the Gospel, to heal the sick, to cast out demons, to bring forth the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven, lives in us. We are “the body of Christ” in our world (1 Corinthians 12:27), “filled with the Spirit” of Christ to minister the power and the love of God in our world (Ephesians 5:18; Acts 1:8). Like those first disciples, You gave them boundaries and instructions for their assignment. You encouraged them and empowered them for their assignment as You sent them. When You told them where to go and what to do “As you go,” they knew they went with God and God went with them. As I write this, I think of the Spanish blessing, “Via con Dios” -- “Go with God. In the morning, my wife and I will “Go with God” on our assignment to Morelia, Mexico for two weeks of ministry there. You’ve given us our boundaries and our instructions for this assignment. And the assignment hasn’t changed -- proclaim the coming of the kingdom of God and see You demonstrate the coming of Your kingdom through the power and the love of God everywhere you send us. Heal the sick; cast out demons. Lift up the name of Jesus. See the glory of God made manifest here on earth as it is in heaven. As we go, we know we go with God! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Life in the Spirit - January 25, 2022

Morning by Morning, January 25 - Life in the Spirit Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fixing my eyes on You, I watch and wait for the leading of Your Spirit (Hebrews 12:2). For the sons and daughters of God our Father are led by the Spirit of God who abides within us (Romans 8:14). ... “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:9-11 NKJV). Come, Holy Spirit. I welcome You here in my heart and here in every moment of my day. Guide my steps. Direct my path. Put Your thoughts in my mind and Your desires in my heart. Help me lean not on my own understanding, but trust in You with all my heart -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God -- even every choice I’ll make and every challenge I’ll face (Proverbs 3:5-6). This is living life “in the Spirit” instead of living life “in the flesh.” More of Your Spirit; less of my flesh. More of You as the Source of all I am and all I need and all I do; less of me trying to be and do and find fulfillment in my own ways in my own strength and my own wisdom apart from You. You must increase; I must decrease, in the sense my growing trust in You and deeper surrender to You in all that I am and all that I have, all I will ever be and all I ever will have (John 3:30). “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day” (Proverbs 4:18). I’m not righteous by anything I have done, but by all that You have done. And I’m on “the path of the righteous” -- step by step, day by day, morning by morning, from glory to glory -- only because the Righteous One lives in me -- “the Spirit of Christ” in me (Romans 8:9); “Christ in (me), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). So as I entrust my life and my day to You -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- I trust Your nature and surrender to Your will to come live this day through me. Another day of “life in the Spirit” -- “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25). Let it be said and let it be so, all by the power of Your grace and life of Your Spirit living in me, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
