Morning by Morning, February 10 - Fill My Heart and Guide My Steps   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit and lead me in Your ways on my adventure of faith through another day. ...   “My child, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways” (Proverbs 23:26).   My heart belongs to You, Lord. I’ve put my trust and my life into Your hands. I’ve come to believe You know what’s best and You know me and all I need to experience on my journey through this world in the time I have for You to make me more like You (Romans 8:28-29).   “Nevertheless I am continually with You;  You hold my right hand.  You guide me with Your counsel,  and afterward You will receive me with honor” (Psalm 73:23-24)   “You wisely and tenderly lead me, and then You bless me” (The Message).   “Whom have I in heaven but You?  And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than You.  My flesh and my heart may fail,  but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.  Indeed, those who are far from You will perish;  You put an end to those who are false to You.  But for me it is good to be near God;  I have made the Lord God my refuge,  to tell of all Your works” (Psalm 73:25-28).   So fill my heart with Your Spirit and lead me in the path You’ve set before me today. With my heart in Your hands, You’ll be guiding my steps today (Proverbs 16:9). And I can trust I’m in good hands and that it will be a good day, as You cause all things to work together for my good -- step by step, morning by morning, day by day on my journey with You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, February 14 - Revival of Love to “Love One Another Deeply from the Heart”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of my heart, Lord of my life, fill me up and lead me on today into the fullness and fulfillment of Your will for me. ...   “Now that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth so that you have genuine mutual love, love one another deeply from the heart” (1 Peter 1:22).   Valentine’s Day -- today, all the world celebrates the Day of Love. Even if you don’t “believe” in it, you still better bring home some flowers.   But at the heart of it is actually an honest expression of our God-given need to give and receive love. In Your own words, “On these two commandments” -- to “love the Lord your God with all your heart” and to “love your neighbor as yourself” -- “hang all the Law and the Prophets” of the Scriptures of the Bible (Matthew 22:37-40). In fact, love is the very essence of Your Being, “for God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them” (1 John 4:16).   This is not the world’s love or some worldly form of lust impersonating love. This is self-sacrificial love, steadfast love, unfailing love (John 3:16). This is the love that even “covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8). This is the love that never ceases (Lamentations 3:22), the love that never ends (1 Corinthians 13:8), the love that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7).   So on this Day of Love, release a fresh grace, even a revival of love, to love like that, to love like You, to “love one another deeply from the heart” in “genuine mutual love.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Revival Fires Burning Again! - February 13, 2023

Morning by Morning, February 13 - Revival Fires Burning Again!   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up, here in my heart and every moment of my day (John 12:32). ...   “Revive us again, O God! I know you will! Give us a fresh start! Then all Your people will taste Your joy and gladness” (Psalm 85:6 TPT).   I’m so thrilled that revival fires are burning again at on the campus of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, where I went to seminary across the street and lived in the community for many years in the early days of my ministry. I’ve experienced the love and power and Presence of God in that very chapel of Hughes Auditorium so many times, joining in passionate prayers for revival to break out again in that well of revival, not far away from the great well of revival called Cane Ridge at the heart of the Second Great Awakening in America. And You are answering those prayers!   They say chapel service started Wednesday morning and has never ended! Heartfelt repentance, prayer, worship, both the Word and the Spirit invited and embraced, all woven together in a spiritual atmosphere saturated in the Presence of God. A great of mine and former pastor, David Thomas described the atmosphere as hard to leave, your just drawn to stay and linger. Someone else said the sense of deep peace is palpable.   Come, Holy Spirit! In past revivals at Asbury, students went out two by two to other campuses and the embers of revival fire spread! Lord, do it again! Light the Fire again! Do it in me and in all Your people, across this land and throughout the earth. How we need Your revival! A fresh start, a new day, a great awakening in every heart, and in every tribe and tongue and nation! (Revelation 5:9) “The Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come!’” (Revelation 22:17) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, February 9 - “New Every Morning”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Guide my thoughts and lead my heart into all You have for me today. ...   “This I call to mind,  and therefore I have hope:  The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;  great is Your faithfulness.  ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul,  ‘therefore I will hope in Him.’ The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,  to the soul that seeks Him” (Lamentations 3:21-25).   Your mercies are new every morning. Your steadfast love never ends.   You fill my heart with good things and set my hope on good things yet to come. For You are faithful and You are good. You give me the grace to keep seeking You, to keep trusting You, even to keep waiting on You until You fulfill all that’s in Your heart to pour into my life. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray.
