Morning by Morning, March 17, 2026 — Remembering St. Patrick’s Prayer and Passion Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up, here in my heart and throughout the moments of my day. ... I’m reminded that today is St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick was not a leprechaun; he was an evangelist. He was sold into slavery and trafficked to the country of Ireland. There he found You. By the power of Your grace, he escaped his slavery to return to his home. But Your Spirit stirred in his heart to return to the land of his captivity to preach the Good News, to heal the brokenhearted, and to set captives free in the authority of the name of Jesus. You set him free in his heart to set others free in Your power and love. Though he’s often remembered for using the three-leafed clover to explain the trinity of God in three Persons, yet one God, and for the legend of driving away the snakes from Ireland, Heaven remembers him for loving his enemies and preaching Your Word that You confirmed with Your signs and wonders to lead a nation to Jesus. As we remember him, let us remember Your Word that stirred in his spirit with a passion for people that flowed out of a passion for Jesus: “My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). As we remember this saint of old, let us be stirred by Your Spirit today, to share Your heart and Your word in our world, in the ways You uniquely lead each of us and with the personality You’ve given each of us (John 20:21; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18; John 14:12; Acts 4:30). Let us also remember St. Patrick’s prayer: Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me. Lord, let it be so, in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, March 16, 2026 — “Having Disarmed Principalities and Powers” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my eyes to You and open up my heart to You, to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ... “Having disarmed principalities and powers, (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15). Through the victory of Your Cross and the power of Your Blood, You disarmed my accuser when You forgave me for my sins. You made a public spectacle of the one who wanted to shame and defile my soul. You triumphed over the one who tried to exalt himself above You and tried to crush out my life and the lives of all who believe beneath him. “For it pleased the Father that in (Jesus Christ) all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. “And (we), who once were alienated and enemies in (our) mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present (us) holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed (we) continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which (we) heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven...” (Colossians 1:19-23). Your victory is our victory. Your triumph is our triumph. What You disarmed has lost its power and forfeited its place to judge us and rule over us, now forever forced to bow to the authority of Your name in eternal submission to Your victorious triumph: “That (we) may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:18-23). What You have disarmed will never rise again. But my worship and praise for all You’ve done for me and for all of “us who believe” will never cease to rise up from our hearts to Your throne forever and ever. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Morning by Morning, March 12, 2026 — Rooted, Built Up, and Established in the Faith, No Matter What Good morning, Lord Jesus. My hope and trust is in You, as I watch and wait for Your leading to begin my day looking and listening for You (John 10:27). ... “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving” (Colossians 2:6-7). May I be “rooted” in You and “built up” in You. May I be “established in the faith” in You. When worries try to overwhelm me, when dread tries to overtake me, You are my Security, my Rock, my Refuge. You are my Strong Tower, my Strength, and Ever-Present Help in time of need. So I will not fear nor moved in moments of trouble, steadfast by grace through faith in You. “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah.... “The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah (Psalm 46:1-3, 11). The Selah of Scripture is a declaration of my soul that I’m resting in You, trusting in You, confident and secure, rooted and built up in You, established in my faith in You—no matter what. Thank You for teaching me this gift of Your grace to find my security in You alone. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, March 11, 2026 — “Cluster Bombs” Cannot Break the “Everlasting Covenant” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look to You and welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ... As I wait for Your leading this morning, the horrifying images of what’s now happening to the people of Israel come to mind. The current leaders of Iran are now exploding “cluster bombs” in midair above the civilian populations of Israel to send shrapnel in every direction against indiscriminate human targets to maximize fear and panic among the men, women, and children. But these “cluster bombs” will never break Your “everlasting covenant” with the people of that land: “He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth. He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,’ When they were few in number, Indeed very few, and strangers in it. When they went from one nation to another, From one kingdom to another people, He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, Saying, ‘Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm’” (Psalm 105:7-15). O Lord, our God, I know my prayers are not politically correct according to those who “call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness” as Your Word warns us they would in these days (Isaiah 5:20). But these are my prayers from my heart. I pray for a speedy and just end to the true source of evil and depravity sending terror into our world. And the ultimate source of that evil is a spiritual wickedness bent on the utter annihilation of the people of Your “everlasting covenant” (Ephesians 6:12). But we are to pray for them—for their salvation, their protection, and their peace—the peace that only comes for all of us through a living relationship with You (Psalm 122:6; John 14:6). The decision-makers of the nations of this world will make their choices, whether for good or for evil. But Your word will stand. It will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). You will watch over Your word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12). And Your “everlasting covenant” will never be broken. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
