Morning by Morning, March 16, 2026 — “Having Disarmed Principalities and Powers”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my eyes to You and open up my heart to You, to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...
“Having disarmed principalities and powers, (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15).
Through the victory of Your Cross and the power of Your Blood, You disarmed my accuser when You forgave me for my sins. You made a public spectacle of the one who wanted to shame and defile my soul. You triumphed over the one who tried to exalt himself above You and tried to crush out my life and the lives of all who believe beneath him.
“For it pleased the Father that in (Jesus Christ) all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
“And (we), who once were alienated and enemies in (our) mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present (us) holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed (we) continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which (we) heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven...” (Colossians 1:19-23).
Your victory is our victory. Your triumph is our triumph. What You disarmed has lost its power and forfeited its place to judge us and rule over us, now forever forced to bow to the authority of Your name in eternal submission to Your victorious triumph:
“That (we) may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
“And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:18-23).
What You have disarmed will never rise again. But my worship and praise for all You’ve done for me and for all of “us who believe” will never cease to rise up from our hearts to Your throne forever and ever. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
