Day of Thanksgiving to God 11-27-08

Good morning, Lord Jesus. On this Thanksgiving Day, I thank You, Lord, for loving me, forgiving me, and calling me Your own. I thank You for every blessing and I thank You through every circumstance. I thank You for never leaving me, never forsaking me, but always going with me through every moment of my journey toward maturity in You. … "I will thank You forever, because of what You have done. In the presence of the faithful, I will proclaim Your name, for it is good" (Psalm 52:9). In these days of great concern -- where many are losing jobs, homes, and peace of mind; where many are concerned of losing even more -- it's good for us all to pause and pray. Instead of dwelling on all we don't have -- as true and real as that may be -- it's good to take some time to catch our thoughts, open our hearts, and lift our eyes in thanks and praise for all we do have. "For I have learned to be content in whatever I have. I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstance I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need: I can do all things through Him who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:11-13). I thank You, my God. You are good. And You are good to me. In times of little or times of plenty, in times of struggle or times of celebration, I thank You for strengthening me, encouraging me, and walking with me through it all. No matter what, I always have much to be thankful for. And on this day of national thanksgiving to God, I pray You would pour out Your Spirit of gratitude upon our hearts and upon our land.
