Morning by Morning, July 15, 2025 - “When Christ Who Is Your Life is Revealed”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day setting my mind on You. ...
“So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory” (Colossians 3:1-4).
Christ, be my life. Christ, be revealed in my life, through my life.
Put Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your words in my mouth, Your action in my steps.
As I speak these words of commitment, surrender, and prayer this morning, an old prayer comes to mind, attributed to Saint Patrick, the missionary evangelist to the people Ireland:
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.
Yes, Lord. I agree. I can’t do any of that on my own. But You can do it all in every heart, even including me, who’s willing to let Christ be their life. As best as I can and all by Your grace, let it be so. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
