Morning by Morning, March 23, 2026 — “Expectant” Good morning, Lord Jesus. Take me by the heart and lead me by Your Spirit, for the sons and daughters of God are led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). ... As I wait, what comes to my heart is the word “Expectant.” “My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. “Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:5-8). With expectant faith, I turn to You and trust in You. With an expectant heart, I’m secure in You, confident in You. And with an expectant hope, I’m looking forward to see all You will do in me and through me this day. I’m expectant of good things today. Because You’re a good God. You have good plans for me, “to give (me) a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). You are for me. And “If God is for (me), who can be against (me)?” (Romans 8:31) Expectant. Encouraged. Excited to see what You will do this day and every day, as I entrust this day and every day into Your hands. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, March 20, 2026 — “The Place of Perfect Peace” Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I begin my day in prayer, waiting for Your leading, I embrace the promise of Your Word, “Abide in Me, and I in you” (John 15:4). ... As I wait, what rises up from my spirit and into my mind are these simple words: “The place of perfect peace.” ... And this Scripture comes to mind: “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3). Where is “The place of perfect peace,” Lord? ... I believe I hear You speaking in my heart: “The place of perfect peace is where you find rest for your soul because you are resting in Me. You enter the place of perfect peace when you are seeking Me with all your heart, when you are trusting Me through all you experience, when you are letting Me put My thoughts in your mind and My desires in your heart, letting Me form My nature in your nature, My character in your character. For I Am your Perfect Peace. As you abide in Me and I in you, you enter the place of perfect peace.” ... Yes, Lord. As best as I can and all by Your grace, I choose to enter this place of perfect peace and embrace the One who is my Perfect Peace today. Help me keep this perspective and pursuit and attitude of heart and mind throughout every moment of every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, March 19, 2026 — From Humility to Honor Good morning, Lord Jesus. Let me hear what’s on Your heart, as I seek You and listen for Your leading to begin my day embracing Your Presence within me and all around me (Colossians 1:27). ... As I wait, what comes to my heart is Your Word concerning humility: “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” ... “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:6, 10). You don’t say we should say we are humble. You don’t say we should look to others to say we are humble. You say, “Humble yourselves.” In a practical way, to “humble” myself is to willingly choose to be desperately dependent upon You alone. To “humble’ myself is to admit that “Apart from (You), (I) can do nothing” (John 15:5). Humility opens the door to Your grace—to Your power, Your favor, Your provision, to all I need from You that I could never provide for myself. And Your heart is to “give more grace.” But pride is the problem. My pride—my insistence upon my self-sufficiency, depending on my own power or wisdom or ways apart from You and Your power or wisdom or ways—is what blocks Your grace and more of Your grace. You resist the proud and my pride resists You. So forgive me for every form of my pride and insistence upon self-sufficiency. Set me free from that. And make more room for more of Your grace in my life. As I humble myself, You lift me up. You bring me from humility to honor. So, by the power of Your grace, I willingly choose to be desperately dependent upon You alone. This day and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
