Morning by Morning, October 30 - “We Have Our Voice Back!” - The “Speaker of the House” is a Follower of the Word as a Bible-believing Servant of God Who’s Not Backing Down   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Take me by my heart and lead me by Your Spirit into all You desire for me to hear and speak today -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...   “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).   A few days ago, the new Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States was installed into office after many challenges. His name is Mike Johnson. And from what I can see, he’s not backing down from his faith in God or his honor of the Bible as the Authority and Plumbline for what is right and true in the decisions of his heart, as he speaks on behalf of the representatives of the people of our nation.   His position of “Speaker of the House” is prophetically significant. And the fact that it has taken many challenges for him to be positioned in this spiritually strategic position for such a time as this is no accident, mistake, or coincidence. And neither are the unrelenting attacks already taking place against his character and his faith for taking such a bold stand, with no surrender and no retreat from the authority of Scripture in his life and leadership.   In my spirit, I believe it is a prophetic sign of a shifting in the heart of America. Actually, I believe it’s more of an affirmation of the true heart of America that’s been silent for too long but intimidated no more!   Come, Holy Spirit. Stir up the true heart of America--the sons and daughters, the men and women who are free and bold to express their faith in You and Your Word as the Standard and Authority for our lives and the life of our nation. Under our Constitution You divinely formed in the minds and hearts of its writers and signatories, we honor and protect the freedom to believe and express any religion or faith. And whatever religion or faith we choose to embrace as the truth, we are free to express it and to live it--whether we’re the Speaker of the House or the leader of our own house. We’re free to declare and never back down from the determination of our hearts, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).   Congressman Johnson “speaks” for all, but he’s free to be guided by One. From his position of authority, he’s free to be led in his heart and life, and even in his strategic position of leadership in our nation by the One he knows to be the Author of all that is right and true. And You are that One. Your Word is True. Inspired. Inerrant. Infallible. “Alive and active and sharper than any two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12).   Lord, forgive us for the voices of those who have spoken and led on our behalf in the past who did not believe and honor You or Your Word. Let us be cleansed from all unrighteousness by the Blood of the Lamb according to the Word of God that comes through repentance in our hearts and for our land (1 John 1:9; 2 Chronicles 7:14). Let us be restored and even revived and awakened to move forward in our destiny and in advance of Your Kingdom as “one nation under God.”   As I write these words and pray this prayer, I hear in my heart, “We have our voice back!”   Yes, Lord! Let it be so! “We have our voice back!” Let us now have ears to hear the Voice of the One who always leads the way into righteousness and truth. As You have said and continue to say, “My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Pakistan Ministry Mighty Move of the Holy Spirit Praise Report from our Meeting Last Week! I just received this report from our ministry partner there, Pastor Rizwan Fazal, after our outdoor evangelistic meeting through our Skype Internet Ministry, where my message of salvation, hope, healing, and freedom in Jesus is being interpreted in real time for the people there in Pakistan! Sagar Masih healed from stones at his gall bladder. Anwar Masih healed from both hands were closed due to muscles problems from last 4 years but his hands are opening now. He wasn’t able to eat or move fingers but fingers are working now!" We praise God for all He has done! The Way of Escape for the Captives of Israel and for All of Us - October 27, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, October 27 - The Way of Escape for the Captives of Israel and for All of Us   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me begin my day grounded in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit. ...   As I seek to pray and have my heart and thoughts aligned with Yours to begin my day, the lives of those taken captive from Israel and other nations by the terrorists keeps coming to mind. And now one of the Prophecies of Isaiah comes to mind, speaking of a day to come when many of those in Israel who have been captive shall “escape” and see the glory of the Lord revealed in her Messiah--revealed in You:   “In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious; And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing For those of Israel who have escaped” (Isaiah 4:2).   You are “the Branch of the Lord”:   “There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist” (Isaiah 11:1-5).   You are the Rod from the stem of Jesse the father of David, the Branch, the One who perfectly fulfills the seven-fold Spirit of the Lord, the Judge of all the earth, the Savior, the Messiah who has come and the Messiah who will come again--“the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End ... who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8).   And as I think on that day to come, I join in prayer this day today for the rescue and “escape” of all who are help captive in Israel--whether physically held captive and kidnapped by enemies bent on her annihilation and destruction or spiritually held captive from not recognizing their Deliverer and Savior. Even use all that is happening, even the evil that’s come upon her and the tribulation of anything she’s yet to go through, to turn the hearts of Israel to You--using all that was intended for evil, to be used for good (Genesis 50:20; Romans 8:28).   For there will come a day when the Prophecy of Your Word will be fulfilled in Romans Chapter 11:   “And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:   ‘The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins” (Romans 11:26-27).   And one day to come, the Prophecy of Zechariah Chapter 12 will be fulfilled for Israel as well:   “In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them. It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.   “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn” (Zechariah 12:8-10).   So between this day and “that day” to come, we pray for the captives to “escape,” we pray for all Israel to be saved, we stand with Israel--with the people of God who desperately need to know their Deliverer and Savior, our Deliverer and Savior--as well as all people every place and race and nation-- Arab, Jew, Gentile, by whatever name or identity--who all need to know their only Deliverer and Savior--the Lord Jesus Christ. “For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Alive in Christ in the Heavenly Realm and in the Earthly Realm - October 26, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, October 26 - Alive in Christ in the Heavenly Realm and in the Earthly Realm   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I’m alive in Christ, lifted up with You in the heavenly places with You in my spirit -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...   Even as I pray out these words to direct my attention to You in these first moments of my morning, Your Word comes to my mind and rises up in my heart from Ephesians Chapter 2:   “And (us) He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which (we) once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.   “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace (we) have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace (we) have been saved through faith, and that not of (ourselves); it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:1-10).   By the mercy of Your grace and the mystery of faith, I’m alive in You, lifted up in You, abiding with You in the heavenly places of Your Presence. In that realm of the heavenly places, I am free and forgiven, filled with peace and joy, at home in Your heart and embraced in Your love.   Lord, let it be so on earth as it is in heaven--here in my heart and mind and will and emotions and body and in every moment of my day for every day of my life--as it already is in heaven. Teach how to live from there--there where I am already in that dimension of my life, that realm of my present existence, where Your Word says I’m already “raised up” to “sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” with You (v. 6).   “There” is not so much a place, as a realm and dimension of existence. And that realm is just as real as this earthly realm. Open the eyes of my heart to see more, hear more, experience more of that realm “in the heavenly places” where my heart is aligned with Your heart, my thoughts are aligned with Your thoughts, my will is aligned with Your will, my words are aligned with Your words (Ephesians 1:18).   I’m “there” already in my spirit. Keep me “there” with you now “in the heavenly places”, even as I go about the moments of my day “here” in the earthly places of this realm that’s also just as real as that realm. Give me grace to understand and embrace that I live in both realms at the same time and You are with me in Your abiding Presence all the time (Matthew 28:20; Romans 8:9). I’m alive in You and You’re alive in me--“Christ in (me), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Pursuing the Enemy for the Return of the Captives - October 25, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, October 25 - Pursuing the Enemy for the Return of the Captives   Good morning, Lord Jesus. Grounded in Your Word, filled with Your Spirit, I begin my day centered and focused on You. ...   “Now when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had made a raid on the Negeb and on Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag, burned it down, and taken captive the women and all who were in it, both small and great; they killed none of them, but carried them off, and went their way. When David and his men came to the city, they found it burned down, and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept, until they had no more strength to weep. David’s two wives also had been taken captive, Ahinoam of Jezreel, and Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David was in great danger; for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in spirit for their sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God” (1 Samuel 30:1-6).   On a day of shock and terror, on a day of national tragedy for all who were part of the heart of David, they found their city devastated by destruction and “their wives and sons and daughters taken captive.” At first all they could do, as they were dazed by trauma, was raise their voices in aguish and grief “until they had no more strength to weep.”   Then, in great danger of betrayal and the twisted irony of blame-shifting, it was David himself who was nearly stoned to death, as everyone’s rage and pain was turned against him instead of their enemies. Even though it was David’s enemies, the enemies of Israel who hated him and his people, who invaded their homes and burned their city and carried away their families kidnapped as captives, everyone turned on David. Everyone began to blame the victim instead of those who came to steal and kill and destroy.   Spirits never die; and those same spirits are still at work in our world stealing and killing and destroying and trying to turn the hearts of the world against the very ones who have been horrifically, unimaginably terrorized by hatred.   But “David strengthened himself in the Lord his God” (v.6).   David turned to You. In the humility of desperate dependence upon You alone, he “inquired of the Lord” (v. 8). He waited on You for Your answer, Your wisdom, Your guidance. He didn’t have any Answer but You, no Hope but You.   And then he obeyed everything he heard, as best as he could and all by Your grace. You called him to get up from his grief and be girded up with faith to “pursue” his enemies until he had taken back all that was stolen from him and his people (v. 9).   Some were too weary to go with him; some refused to stand with him. But he gathered those who were of one heart with his to trust God and obey, and “went on with the pursuit” (v. 10).   By the power and the grace of God, David found his enemies, still gloating over their plunder (v. 16). And with unrelenting faith in the word of the Lord and the power of Your might, he and his army engaged their enemies in the fierce courage that only You can supply, until “not one of them escaped” (v. 17). He took back all that was taken. “Nothing was missing, whether small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything that had been taken. David brought back everything” (v. 19).   Your Word says that all that happened to those under the Old Covenant in former times and all that happened in the battles and struggles against their enemies of flesh and blood speak to us of the spiritual principles in our battles against our spiritual enemies today. Their struggles and battles, their failures and successes, “serve as an example, and they were written down to instruct us, on whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Corinthians 10:11). “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).   So come, Holy Spirit. Give the sons and daughters of David Your wisdom, Your guidance today. Let every kidnapped captive be brought home. Let all that was taken be restored. Let none of the perpetrators of this terror escape.   For the human beings of flesh and blood involved, may every heart be convicted to turn to You in repentance and faith for salvation in Your name -- the name of above all names (Philippians 2:9), the only name under heaven by which men and women may be saved (Acts 4:12).   And like their father David before them, may the leaders and people of Israel turn to You to “strengthen (themselves) in the Lord.” May we all turn to You, to be strengthened in You, restored in You, with nothing missing and nothing broken, through the peace of our salvation in You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
