Morning by Morning, July 28, 2025 - The Treasure of Joy! Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day. ... During the time of worship on our ministry trip in Kenya, You said in my heart, “The people of Kenya are a treasure to Me.” And You brought this Scripture to mind: ‘I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel” (Isaiah 45:2-3). As I pressed in to hear more, for Your sheep hear Your voice (John 10:27) and Your children are led by Your Spirit (Romans 8:14), what I heard in my heart was this: “Their treasure is My joy. I have put the treasure of My joy in their hearts.” Yes, Lord. I see the great joy of the Lord in the hearts of Your people here. In their smiles and in their dancing and in the freedom of Your Spirit. The joy of the Lord is their strength! (Nehemiah 8:10) Just as we need all that You impart and release through every part of Your Body of Christ in the earth, each with unique giftings and calling upon their land and their people, we need the joy of Kenya in our hearts in Your Body. “The manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1 Corinthians 12:7). And even as Your Word speaks of treasures that are “hidden,” I notice that as the people here go about their day, they can look serious. But as soon as I stretch out my hand to them to shake their hand or wave to them from the car, without fail, their eyes light up and their face shines with a big smile! It’s like an awakening of joy that’s kind of “hidden” in their hearts. But the joy is there, just waiting to be awakened. And when they worship, they come alive in such freedom and joy. There’s nothing hidden and nothing held back. What passion and joy in the Spirit of the Lord! How the world needs this gifting of Your joy! May I receive it and carry it and impart it wherever You send me in the joy and freedom of Your Spirit! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today. Morning by Morning, July 22, 2025 - I Will Name Him Moses Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, come rule and reign in heart and life today. ... “Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward” (Hebrews 3:5). Today, I will have the honor of naming the firstborn child of our Director of Ministries in Pakistan, Babar Amanat, and his wife Naseem. I wanted to make sure they were sure of giving such an unbelievable honor to me for such a significant place in someone’s life—their name, which speaks of their identity and their destiny. And as I have prayed, I do believe You have given me the name for this child: Moses. Moses was faithful and courageous, to lead the people of God out of their bondage and oppression and through the wilderness of their journey of faith to position them for entry into the Promised Land of their destiny in You. He was not perfect, but he did have a heart to pursue You and follow You, secure in his identity and fulfilling his destiny. At the heart of Moses’ faithfulness and obedience, as a servant leader of a nation of people, was his deeply personal, spiritually intimate relationship with You. “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend” (Exodus 33:11). Lord, as I name this son of God today, may You grant him the grace to live into all You have for him and all You’ll accomplish through him. Let everything he’ll ever do flow out of who he is in You. Fill him with Your Spirit, draw him near to Your heart, and display Your glory through his life. I pray the same for every son and daughter of God who are part of this generation You are raising up to accomplish Your will in our world in these days. May each one be drawn near to Your heart, know You deeply and intimately, to hear Your voice and obey Your will, secure in their identity as a beloved child of God and fulfilling their destiny as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. Morning by Morning, July 21, 2025 - “Reign in Life”

 

Morning by Morning, July 21, 2025 - “Reign in Life” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). ... As I wait and listen, what comes to my heart is a phrase I heard in church Sunday morning: “Reign in life.” And this Word from Your Scripture: “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17). Through the sin of one man named Adam way back in the Garden of Eden, death began to reign in the earth, passed down from generation to generation in the destruction and decay of all humanity and all creation. Death and all its consequences entered the world through sin (v. 12). But through the selfless sacrifice of the one Man, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes aways the sin of the world on behalf of all humanity and all creation, we now “receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness (v. 17). And in the abundance of Your grace, in the overflowing of Your mercy, we not only exist in life, not only endure and survive this life, we “reign in life” through Jesus Christ! We are “more than conquerors through Him who loved us!” (Romans 8:37) We are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, freely surrendering our lives to You that You could live in us, reigning in life, with victory over death! (Revelation 12:11) “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Corinthians 15:57) “Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ!” (2 Corinthians 2:14) We can “reign in life” because You reign in us. You are the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16). And as You reign in us and empower us to “reign in life” as King of our hearts and Lord of our lives, we are victorious in You. “For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:11-12). So come rule and reign in my heart and my life today—this day and every day, my Lord and my King. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Morning by Morning, July 18, 2025 - “Prepare the Way of the Lord” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day looking to You (Hebrews 12:2). ... “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken’” (Isaiah 40:3-5). Come, Holy Spirit. Prepare the way of the Lord here in my heart and here in my world. Make my paths straight. Wherever I need conviction, correction, redirection. Align my steps with Your Word and Your heart, as You set my feet on the path that leads into the fullness of Your will for my life. Lift up the valleys of any areas in my heart and emotions that are battle-weary or worn. Build me up from the inside out wherever I feel beaten-down or hurt. Fill the low places with Your Living Waters to flow like a river of Your Spirit in me and through me. Bring down every mountain and hill of pride—the kind of pride that asserts my own will, my own way, where I am in control instead of surrendering to Your control. Pull down every idol that I allow to exalt itself in my life with a place and priority that only You should have. Straighten up the crooked places. Whatever’s out of joint or out of alignment, come set it right again. Establish in me a desire for righteousness in You—right with God, right with others, right within myself. Rekindle the fire of the desire for holiness of heart and life in my thoughts and desires to make me more like You each day. Make the rough places smooth wherever I need to be sanded down, wherever barriers and blockages of my flesh that get in the way of Your Spirit need to be rebuffed or removed. Sanctify my tongue to be smooth and not harsh, building up and not tearing down, speaking Your words of spirit and life and not destruction and death, all in alignment with Your will and in Your ways. May Your glory be revealed. “Christ in (me), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). Prepare the way of the Lord in me, that I may “Arise, shine, for (my) Light has come. And the glory of the Lord is risen upon (me)” (Isaiah 60:1). Let my flesh bow down, let my spirit arise, to see Your glory displayed as You “prepare the way of the Lord” in me. “For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Now let the heart of my spirit hear and trust and obey. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
