Morning by Morning, March 19, 2026 — From Humility to Honor Good morning, Lord Jesus. Let me hear what’s on Your heart, as I seek You and listen for Your leading to begin my day embracing Your Presence within me and all around me (Colossians 1:27). ... As I wait, what comes to my heart is Your Word concerning humility: “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” ... “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:6, 10). You don’t say we should say we are humble. You don’t say we should look to others to say we are humble. You say, “Humble yourselves.” In a practical way, to “humble” myself is to willingly choose to be desperately dependent upon You alone. To “humble’ myself is to admit that “Apart from (You), (I) can do nothing” (John 15:5). Humility opens the door to Your grace—to Your power, Your favor, Your provision, to all I need from You that I could never provide for myself. And Your heart is to “give more grace.” But pride is the problem. My pride—my insistence upon my self-sufficiency, depending on my own power or wisdom or ways apart from You and Your power or wisdom or ways—is what blocks Your grace and more of Your grace. You resist the proud and my pride resists You. So forgive me for every form of my pride and insistence upon self-sufficiency. Set me free from that. And make more room for more of Your grace in my life. As I humble myself, You lift me up. You bring me from humility to honor. So, by the power of Your grace, I willingly choose to be desperately dependent upon You alone. This day and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, March 18, 2026 — My “North Star” is “The Bright and Morning Star” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look up and listen up for the leading of Your Spirit, to begin my day focused on You so You can flow through me—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God (John 10:27; Colossians 1:27). ... These days, I hear people speak of their “North Star”—which I take to mean their ultimate guiding principle for their direction and vision. You are my “North Star.” You are my Ultimate Guiding Principle, my Direction, and my Vision. The “Bright and Morning Star” is my “North Star” as I embrace Your closing Words on the final page of Your Scripture: “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.... “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with (us) all. Amen” (Revelation 22:12-21). One day, You’ll come again in Your glory in the clouds. And today, and every day between this day and that glorious day to come, I welcome You to come in Your glory right here in my heart and be my Ultimate Guiding Principle, my Direction, and my Vision, my Lord and my Savior, my King of Kings and Lord of Lords, my “Bright and Morning Star.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Morning by Morning, March 17, 2026 — Remembering St. Patrick’s Prayer and Passion Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up, here in my heart and throughout the moments of my day. ... I’m reminded that today is St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick was not a leprechaun; he was an evangelist. He was sold into slavery and trafficked to the country of Ireland. There he found You. By the power of Your grace, he escaped his slavery to return to his home. But Your Spirit stirred in his heart to return to the land of his captivity to preach the Good News, to heal the brokenhearted, and to set captives free in the authority of the name of Jesus. You set him free in his heart to set others free in Your power and love. Though he’s often remembered for using the three-leafed clover to explain the trinity of God in three Persons, yet one God, and for the legend of driving away the snakes from Ireland, Heaven remembers him for loving his enemies and preaching Your Word that You confirmed with Your signs and wonders to lead a nation to Jesus. As we remember him, let us remember Your Word that stirred in his spirit with a passion for people that flowed out of a passion for Jesus: “My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). As we remember this saint of old, let us be stirred by Your Spirit today, to share Your heart and Your word in our world, in the ways You uniquely lead each of us and with the personality You’ve given each of us (John 20:21; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18; John 14:12; Acts 4:30). Let us also remember St. Patrick’s prayer: Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me. Lord, let it be so, in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, March 16, 2026 — “Having Disarmed Principalities and Powers” Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my eyes to You and open up my heart to You, to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ... “Having disarmed principalities and powers, (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15). Through the victory of Your Cross and the power of Your Blood, You disarmed my accuser when You forgave me for my sins. You made a public spectacle of the one who wanted to shame and defile my soul. You triumphed over the one who tried to exalt himself above You and tried to crush out my life and the lives of all who believe beneath him. “For it pleased the Father that in (Jesus Christ) all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. “And (we), who once were alienated and enemies in (our) mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present (us) holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed (we) continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which (we) heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven...” (Colossians 1:19-23). Your victory is our victory. Your triumph is our triumph. What You disarmed has lost its power and forfeited its place to judge us and rule over us, now forever forced to bow to the authority of Your name in eternal submission to Your victorious triumph: “That (we) may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:18-23). What You have disarmed will never rise again. But my worship and praise for all You’ve done for me and for all of “us who believe” will never cease to rise up from our hearts to Your throne forever and ever. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
