“Called and Chosen and Faithful” to Jesus - July 6, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, July 6 - “Called and Chosen and Faithful” to Jesus
 
Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of kings, come rule and reign in my heart and my thoughts and every moment of my day. ...
 
“They will wage war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with Him are called and chosen and faithful” (Revelation 17:14).
 
There’s much about the unfolding of these days and the days to come that I don’t yet understand. But this I do: You win! And because You win, so do we -- we who are “called and chosen and faithful” to You!
 
You’re the Lamb of God who willingly surrendered Your life as the eternal Sacrifice for all our sin (Revelation 5:6). And at the same time, You’re the Lion of Judah who has victoriously conquered and eternally overcome all that will try to oppose the Kingdom of God through the kingdoms of this world (Revelation 5:5). For one day Your Word will be completely fulfilled and forever sealed: “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15 NKJV)
 
So between this day and that day to come, I pray for Your grace to guide my heart and my thoughts -- to keep creating in me a clean heart and renewing in me a right spirit (Psalm 51:10), to keep transforming me by the renewing of my mind (Romans 12:2), to keep conforming me into the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). By the power of Your grace, I want to be one of Yours who are “found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2), faithful to the One who is forever “called Faithful and True” (Revelation 19:11), to the One who is forever declared “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16).
 
Through whatever days to come, through whatever challenges to overcome, no matter what’s happening among the kingdoms of this world, I thank You that I’m already a “citizen” of the Kingdom of God through my faith by Your grace in You (Ephesians 2:19). “For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that is may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able to subdue all things to Himself” (Philippians 3:20-21). In that way and all by the power of that grace, I am and will be among those from every generation, from every tongue and tribe and nation, who are “called and chosen and faithful” to You (Revelation 7:9 and 17:14). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
