Morning by Morning, July 14 - “The Breach in the Dam of Darkness Over This Land Will Now Burst Open”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be at the center of my heart and in the middle of every moment of my day. ...
As I listen for Your leading, I hear in my heart:
“The breach in the dam of darkness over this land will now burst open with a rushing flood of My light and power and love.” ...
Yes, Lord. There are breaches in the dam. There are breakthroughs in the Spirit. There are shakings of the kingdoms of darkness and the kingdoms of this world. Some we see. Some we don’t yet see. But we do sense there is some kind of spiritual shifting and sifting and shaking so that the present order of things will not remain the same.
These words from Your Word come to mind:
“See, the Lord has One who is mighty and strong,
like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest,
like a storm of mighty, overflowing waters;
with force He will hurl them down to the earth!” (Isaiah 28:2)
“See that you do not refuse the One who is speaking, for if they did not escape when they refused the one who warned them on earth, how much less will we escape if we reject the One who warns from heaven! At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.’ This phrase, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of what is shaken--that is, created things--so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable worship with reverence and awe, for indeed our God is a consuming fire!” (Hebrews 12:25-28).
And this Word to one of Your first disciples, that still speaks to us as Your disciples today:
“Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has demanded to sift all of you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail, and you, when once you have turned back, strengthen your brothers” (Luke 22:31-32).
Lord, let this nation turn back to You. Let the heart of every soul that has grown cold or weary or complacent or compromised through this era where our enemy has sought to dam up Your River of Living Water and hold back the floods of revival turn back to You.
Break open the dam! Shake it and break it until it crumbles and falls, no longer able to withstand the mighty move of God that’s in Your heart for this land!
I hear my spirit rising up in communion with Your Holy Spirit to declare from my heart into the spiritual atmosphere around me:
Satan’s been sifting and You’ve been shaking,
But now is the time for our awakening!
Break open the dam and bring forth Your power,
We’re destined and called to prevail in this hour!
And this Word of awakening from Your Word in Ephesians:
“Sleeper, awake!
Rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you!” (Ephesians 5:14)
Yes, Lord. Awaken us! Revive us! Remind us and empower us, position and align us, for this breakthrough of Your light and power and love in our land and throughout the earth!
Give us faith to believe we can participate now and begin to experience even now “the good word of God and the powers of the age to come” (Hebrews 6:5). For in that age to come, this Promise of Your Word will be fulfilled:
“The kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15 NKJV)
Yes, Lord. Break open that dam of darkness and burst through with Your Living Waters like a mighty rushing flood of Your light and power and love! Let “the knowledge of the glory of the Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea!” (Habakkuk 2:14) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
