Morning by Morning, July 6 - Come Both Boldly and Humbly to the Throne of Grace   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name over all of my day. ...   “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all ways tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:14-16).   Because of all You’ve done for us, we can come boldly before You. But let our boldness never be turned to arrogance or presumption or pride. Let our boldness be saturated in humility -- humility that reminds us that the reason You invited us to come so boldly, so unashamedly is to “obtain mercy and find grace.”   I need Your mercy and grace every day. Every day is my “time of need.” Every day is when I need to start my day drawing near to You, boldly and humbly beginning my day remembering You are the Source of all I need, You are the Provision of all I have, and communion with You in the transformation of my character into Your image is the goal of all I’ll do and all I’ll become (Romans 8:29).   “Apart from You, I can do nothing” (John 15:5). And when I begin my day boldly, humbly coming near to You and Your throne of grace, when I remember to keep coming near to You and remembering that You’ve already come near to me, I can do all things I need to do through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13), through Christ who abides in me and I in You (John 15:4). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
