“Keep in Perfect Peace” - October 18, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, October 18 - “Keep in Perfect Peace”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. My eyes are on You, as my spirit seeks You, to abide in Your Presence and follow Your leading -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...   “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)   There’s a peace that comes from trusting You. There’s a peace that comes from fixing our eyes on You. And it’s a peace we can “keep,” that doesn’t have to come and go with every challenge and battle, every concern and encounter.   For You are our Source of peace. You are the Keeper of our peace. You are our “Prince of Peace” -- our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). We receive that peace in our hearts, as we embrace You in our hearts. And to embrace You in our hearts, we must look to You, think on You, trust in You.   Then Your perfect peace comes to fill our hearts and minds, despite everything else that would seek fill our hearts and minds instead. Then we can “Be anxious for nothing” as “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard (our) hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
