Power to Overcome Every Test - January 19, 2022

Morning by Morning, January 19 - Power to Overcome Every Test Good morning, Lord Jesus. Help me hear what’s on Your heart, as You come and move in my heart this morning -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.... “No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing He will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:3). Thank You for the grace to overcome every test that would try to overtake me. And it seems to me the real test is this: Will I turn to You or turn to myself; will I depend upon You or depend upon myself; will I trust in You or trust in myself -- You or me, who’s it going to be?” Will all my heart, I say, “Lord, I need. O, I need You.” I need Your strength, Your wisdom, to respond in Your way according to Your Word by the power of Your Spirit. Apart from You, I can do nothing (John 15:5). And I thank You that I never have to be apart from You. You’re with me always (Matthew 28:20). You’ll never leave me, nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). And if I do choose to turn to You, if I do choose to depend upon You, if I do choose to trust in You, You turn every test into a testimony of triumph in You. No matter the outcome of the situation in my world, the outcome of the situation will good and glorious in my heart. Blessed is the one “who overcomes” (Revelation 2:7, 2:11, 2:17, 2:26, 3:5, 3:12, 3:21). It’s all by Your grace, all by the power of Your Spirit at work within us, if we choose to trust You in our tests. Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:1-5 NKJV).  Test me now through every test I endure and whatever tribulations I face, how to turn to You, to depend on You, to trust in You. It’s preparing me and producing Your character in me to endure and overcome whatever tribulations are to come. “We must, through many tribulations, enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22). Like all of Your children inheriting Your kingdom, I must and I will -- all by Your grace, grounded in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Morning by Morning, January 17 - Running My Race, Looking to Jesus Good morning, Lord Jesus. My eyes are on You, as I run my race today looking to You. ... “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2). As I look to You, You are changing me into Your image. You are conforming me into Your nature. You are transforming into Your character. For we become like the One we behold; we’re drawn to the nature of the One we worship; we yield to the character of the One we adore: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV). My part is to seek You, to behold You, to allow You to change me into Your image -- to be conformed into the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). As You are, so am I to be (1 John 4:17). You part is to do in me what only You can do. For apart from You, I can do nothing (John 15:5). And by the power of the grace of God, at work in me, abiding in me by Your Spirit, I’m never apart from You and You are never apart from me.  So if I’ll let You, by the freedom of my will surrendered to the sovereignty of Your will, You’ll keep changing me into Your image “from glory to glory.” It’s a lifelong journey, with breakthroughs all along the way on my journey with You in worship and prayer, in surrender and trust, in obedience and faith -- as best as I can and all by Your grace. Lord, give me Your grace to run my race well today, looking to You. You are my Goal, You are my Prize, becoming like You is my Finish Line. It’s a daily race and life-long journey, just as the Apostle Paul acknowledged in the humility of his heart: “Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind... (Philippians 3:12-15). Yes, Lord. “The heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus” is to make me more like Jesus each day. Come do it in me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today! Relentless Love of God - January 14, 2022

 

Morning by Morning, January 14 - Relentless Love of God Good morning, Lord Jesus. Lord of my life and Lover of my soul, come lead me and love me as You will today -- O God my Father, Lord Jesus Christ, Spirit of the Living God. ... “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38). Your love is relentless. Nothing can separate us from it. Nothing can take us from it. “The steadfast love the Lord never ceases” (Lamentations 3:22). “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life” (Psalm 23:6). Surely, “I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:6). Even when we want to run away, even when turn aside, You pursue us. “Therefore, I will now allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her” (Hosea 2:14). “If we are faithless, (You) remain faithful -- for (You) cannot deny (Yourself)” (2 Timothy 2:13). You love us enough to convict us of our sins, to correct us in our hearts, just as a loving father or mother convicts and corrects their children (Hebrews 12:7). But it’s always “for our good” and always out of Your love (Hebrews 12:10). “For (You are) good; for (Your) steadfast love endures forever” (Psalm 100:5). Yes, Lord. You are a relentless God. And Your relentless love for us, Your relentless love for me, endures forever. I thank You and praise You for Your relentless love. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.  Be encouraged today!
