Morning by Morning, June 18, 2026 — “Peace and Safety” or “Sudden Destruction”? We Pray for True Peace.

Morning by Morning, June 18, 2026 — “Peace and Safety” or “Sudden Destruction”? We Pray for True Peace.

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I look to You and listen for Your leading, as I abide in You and You abide in me—now in these first moments of morning prayer and then throughout the moments of my day (John 15:4). …

My thoughts are drawn to the words of the Memorandum of Understanding signed yesterday concerning a declaration of peace and ending the war in the Middle East. Though my heart joins with all those in the world who desire a true and lasting peace, at the same time, this Prophetic Word from Your Scripture also comes to mind:

“But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him”

(1 Thessalonians 5:1-10).

We pray for true peace. We pray this Memorandum of Understanding was negotiated in good faith and will be carried out in good faith. But as we “trust and verify,” let our trust be in You and not merely the words of any man or government. You alone are the only Source of true peace, for You alone are the “Prince of Peace”—our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). As You said long ago, You continue to say today to all who have ears to hear, eyes to see, and a heart to receive:

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Through intercession and prayer, as “sons of light and sons of day” in the Body of Christ, sons and daughters of God who are led by the Holy Spirit of God (Romans 8:14), “let us watch and be sober” without any false illusions about the ultimate plans of the spiritual “thief” who “does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10). “He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44).

We pray against his planned “destruction” and his motives of deception. With spiritual eyes wide open, we take to heart the warning of Your Word against him, to “Be sober, be vigilant; because (our) adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). May we discern the difference between both the coming “destruction” of the enemy toward Your people and the coming “wrath” of God upon Your enemy (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

We remember that our true enemy, the enemy of any true peace, is not merely a man or even a government of human “flesh and blood” but the “spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places,” as we wrestle in prayer and faith and action “against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age” (Ephesians 6:12). Even as we are aware of these Warnings of Your Word, we continue to pray for true and lasting peace, for the cities, nations, and people of this region and all the earth. We pray, as Your Word commands:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

‘May they prosper who love you.

Peace be within your walls,

Prosperity within your palaces.’

For the sake of my brethren and companions,

I will now say, ‘Peace be within you.’

Because of the house of the Lord our God

I will seek your good” (Psalm 122:6-9).

As we read this Memorandum of Understanding, let us, above all, seek Your “Spirit of wisdom and understanding” along with “The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord” (Isaiah 11:2). Like the “sons of Issachar” let us have “understanding of the times” (1 Chronicles 12:32), as we are led by the Spirit of the Lord (Romans 8:14), as we listen for Your leading to follow You in our words and prayers, in our hearts and actions (John 10:27).

Yes, we join with the hearts of all who truly seek Your true peace. And at the same time, we join with the hearts of all You have called to “watch and be sober” in our intercession with spiritual sensitivity and sharpening discernment for the days we are in and the Day to come. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Morning by Morning, June 17, 2026 — The Same God

Morning by Morning, June 17, 2026 — The Same God

Good morning, Lord Jesus. You said Your sheep hear Your voice to know You and follow You, so I’m listening for Your leading, as I begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit (John 10:27). …

You are the same God. …

The same God who spoke to Moses on the mountain of Sinai is the same God who spoke to Paul on the road to Damascus. The same God who parted the Red Sea is the same God who parted the veil of the temple. The same God who forgave David for his sins of adultery and murder is the same God who forgave Mary Magdalene and set her free from her seven demons.

You spoke to them and You speak to us. You forgave them and You forgive us. You delivered them and You deliver us. You are the same God.

You never change. Your Word never changes. But You change us. And You continue to reveal Yourself to us. Through the Old Testament, through the New Testament, and right up through today in the testament You’re writing in our hearts and through our lives, revealing who You are to us and in us and through us.

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they” (Hebrews 1:1-4).

The God who “spoke in time past to the fathers” is the God who still speaks to Your sons and daughters in our present times. The God who revealed Yourself to Moses as “merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth” is the same God who reveals Yourself through Jesus Christ as “full of grace and truth” (Exodus 34:6; John 1:14).

You are one. You are holy. You are just. You are faithful. You are true. You are love. You are “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). In You, “there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17). As You said to the “sons of Jacob” in times past, You continue to say to the sons and daughters of God today, “I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6). “You are the same” (Psalm 102:27).

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the God of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (Exodus 3:15; Acts 3:13). The God of “the fathers” of Israel is God the Father of all who trust in You (Romans 9:5; John 1:12). “For (we) are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26). You’re my God and the Creator, Lord, and rightful God of every person You’ve created in this world, whether they have yet to realize it or not, whether they have yet to embrace Your revelation of Your identity to them or not, whether they still worship false gods or not, whether they are still blinded and bound by a false religion or not.

You are the One True God (John 17:3), the “Living and True God” (1 Thessalonians 1:9). And there is no other:

“I am the Lord, and there is no other;

There is no God besides Me.

I will gird you, though you have not known Me,

That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting

That there is none besides Me.

I am the Lord, and there is no other” (Isaiah 45:5-7).

Lord! Lord! Lord! Give us eyes to see and ears to hear (Ezekiel 12:2; Ephesians 1:18). Give us hearts to receive Your truth and embrace Your love (Ezekiel 36:26; Titus 3:5).

You are so “longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). You’re the God who always and forever, in the Old Testament and the New Testament, in our hearts and in all the world “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

You are “the Everlasting God” (Genesis 21:33; Romans 16:26). And You want Your “everlasting life” for us all (Daniel 12:2; John 3:16).

That’s Your will and will always be Your will. That’s Your heart and will always be Your heart:

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

    His mercies never come to an end;

they are new every morning;

great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV).

You are the same God. And want that same heart in us—a heart that turns to You in faith, that opens to You in surrender, that sees You for who You are, that embraces the everlasting life You have for us.

To You, I say, “Yes, Lord.” And I pray the same for every soul You dearly love and literally died to save through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may you embrace the God of our fathers, in our heart and through your life, sharing His mercy and love through Jesus Christ everywhere He sends you, in Jesus' name. God bless you, my friend! And you have a great day!

Morning by Morning, June 16, 2026 — “King Over All the Earth”

Morning by Morning, June 16, 2026 — “King Over All the Earth”

Good morning, Lord Jesus. As I begin my day in the communion of prayer, I turn to You and open my heart to You and welcome You into every moment of my day—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. …

“And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be—‘The Lord is one,’ and His name one” (Zechariah 14:9).

I look forward to the day, as I join in prayer for the day, when You are acknowledged as “King over all the earth.” On that day, this Word of Prophecy will be fulfilled:

“Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name. So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).

On that day, this Word of Prophecy will be fulfilled as well:

“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever! …

‘We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty,

The One who is and who was and who is to come!” (Revelation 11:15-17)

And I thank You that we don’t have to wait until that day to come. Right here, right now—today and every day—we can welcome You into our hearts to rule and reign as King—“King of Kings and Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16). We can speak out Your name as we bow our knees and confess with our mouths that You are Lord to glory of our Father. “Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all” (Acts 10:36) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may Jesus be exalted as King of your heart and Lord of your life, as you bow before Him and confess your faith in Him, this day and every day, in Jesus' name. God blesss you, my friend! And you have a great day!

Morning by Morning, June 15, 2026 — “This Gospel of the Kingdom” where Jesus Rules and Reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in Every Area of Our Hearts

Morning by Morning, June 15, 2026 — “This Gospel of the Kingdom” where Jesus Rules and Reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in Every Area of Our Hearts

Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, come rule and reign in my heart and every moment of my day. …

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

You were asked by Your first disciples when the end would come and what would be the sign of Your coming (v. 3). You answered with many details—many details we are beginning to see today, in increasing measure:

Deception, “wars and rumors of wars,” “nation (rising) against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,” “famines, pestilences, and earthquakes,” followers of Christ being “delivered up to tribulation” and death and “hated by all nations for (Your) name’s sake,” while “many will be offended” and “betray one another” and “hate one another,” as “lawlessness will abound” and even “the love of many will grow cold” (v. 4-12). But in both a warning and an encouragement by the power of the grace of God at work within the hearts of all who believe and trust in You through whatever we endure, You declared, “But he who endures to the end shall be saved” (v. 13).

In this context, You declared Your Promise of one of the greatest signs of the end times: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew v. 14).

Thank You for letting us be alive at this time when Your gospel of the kingdom is being preached in all the world! Whether we are the ones to go, the ones to pray, or the ones to supply the resources, we get to be a part of this great end-time move of Your Spirit in our world!

“This gospel of the kingdom” includes salvation. It begins with salvation. It’s founded upon salvation. For no one can enter this kingdom without salvation. By grace through faith are we saved—not by any of our works or the goodness of our ways (Ephesians 2:5). It’s by believing in our heart that God the Father raised You from the dead and confessing with our mouths “Jesus is Lord” that we are saved (Romans 10:9). And yet “this gospel of the kingdom” is more than the gospel of salvation.

“This gospel of the kingdom” is the calling to know You as our Savior but also as our Lord, to know we’re forgiven of our sins but also fully surrendered to Your authority in every area of our lives as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It’s to know we’re going to heaven when we die, but also embracing heaven in us now. It’s not just be blessed by God but also being possessed by God. All of us—fully committed, fully surrendered—to all of You. Holding nothing back. Loving You and obeying You with all our heart and mind and soul and strength. Because You deserve nothing less.

This kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). This kingdom of God is “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).

Before the end will come, You will have a people on this earth who love You and serve You like that. We will move with the power and authority of the mighty name of Jesus in our words and prayers and proclamations. And at the same time, we will move with the purity and devotion and intimacy of the character of Jesus in our hearts.

We will truly be Your “ambassadors for Christ” in our world (2 Corinthians 5:20) because we’ve let Your Spirit refine us in Your Fire and develop Your character in our hearts (Romans 8:29; 1 John 4:17; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Matthew 10:24). We will be able to declare the truth of our hearts that each of us “have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

Yes, Lord. Let “this gospel of the kingdom” be lived in me, be proclaimed in me, and be proclaimed through me and all who fully surrender all they have and all they are completely to You to the ends of the earth. This is the gospel of the kingdom You deserve to see proclaimed in every nation in all the world. You deserve nothing less than the hearts and souls of a people fully committed, fully surrendered to You like that. First, by the power of Your grace at work within us, by the power of Your Spirit moving in us, we come to the end of ourselves. And then the end will come. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

My friend, may this gospel of the kingdom be lived in you and through you, fully surrendered and fully committed to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in every area of your life and to the ends of the earth, in Jesus' name. God bless you, my friend! And you have a great day!
