Morning by Morning, June 8, 2026 – Daily Invitation to Spiritual Intimacy
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I begin my day with no barriers between us, but pursuing You, embracing communion with You—heart to Heart, spirit to Spirit, deep calling out to Deep (Psalm 42:7). …
Responding to Your invitation to spiritual intimacy, I’m reminded of the Promise of Your Word that nothing can separate us:
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?...
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35-39).
This invitation to spiritual intimacy is an expression of Your love and mercy that are new every morning and constantly available every moment:
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Yes, Lord. “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope” (Lamentations 3:21).
“‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.’ The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him” (Lamentations 3:24-25).
My soul seeks You. My heart embraces You. My spirit waits upon You.
As the old hymn passionately proclaims:
Morning by morning, new mercies I see…. Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow…. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.
Yes, Lord. Great is Thy faithfulness. Faithful to keep reaching out to me, to keep inviting me to embrace You in the never-ending invitation to spiritual intimacy with You. For Your love is steadfast and never ceasing. And Your mercies never come to an end. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
