Morning by Morning, June 19, 2026 — “The Light of the World” Living in Us Good morning, Lord Jesus. Let Your Light arise in my heart and shine through my life today. … “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life’” (John 8:12). You are the Light of Life. You are the Light of the world. And You are the Light in my life, the Light in my world. By the power of Your grace, I will follow You. By the power of Your grace, I will let Your Light shine through my life today. And by the power of Your grace, I will not walk in darkness and will not allow darkness to walk with me. For “what communion has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14) In the mystery of faith and the mercy of Your grace, You say to each of us who follow You, who abide in You as You abide in us, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Both are true, at the same time. You are the Light and we are the light. That can only be true because You abide in us, You live in us, You shine through us. This is the Light that no darkness can ever overcome. “And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it” (John 1:15). This is Your Light in our world and this is Your Light in us. Lord, push back the darkness in my world today. Open up Your heavens, here in my heart, and let Your Light shine in me and through me, as one of Your “children of God” who “shine as lights in the world, holding fast the Word of Life” (Philippians 2:16). In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today!
