Canopy of God's Protection 2-20-09

Good morning, Lord Jesus. My strength and my shield, my rock and my refuge. I entrust myself and my day to You. … "Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over its places of assembly a cloud by day and smoke and shining of a flaming fire by night. Indeed over all the glory there will be a canopy. It will serve as a pavilion, a shade by day from the heat, and refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain" (Isaiah 4:5-6). For a couple of days, I've been "under the weather." And the weather seems to be blowing through our house, bringing aches and congestion to my boys and me. It's as if an ill wind is trying to wither our spirits and steal away the blessing of our time away together next week. But no wind can blow away our hope in You and no weather can steal away our place of rest under the canopy of Your protection. The glory cloud of Your presence will utterly consume all that may try to consume us, and the flaming fire of Your light will utterly displace every darkness that may try to envelope us. The storm and rain of sickness will only shatter and fall powerless to the ground as it encounters the refuge and shelter of Your mighty hand covering our home and our health.
