Morning by Morning, February 14 - “Live Like Jesus”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Let me see with Your eyes, hear with Your ears, love with Your heart, as You live Your life through mine today. “For (I) have died, and (my) life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is (my) life is revealed, then (I) also will be revealed with Him in glory” (Colossians 3:3-4). ....
In the mystery of faith and the power of grace, You move in my heart by Your Spirit to make me more like You each day, with my life hidden with Christ in God each day. My part is to choose; Your part is to move -- to move in my mind, to move in my heart, to move in my thoughts and move in my desires, so that I desire what is right and do what is right, by the power of Your grace at work within me. “For God is working in (me), giving (me) the desire and the power to do what pleases Him” (Philippians 2:13 NLT).
And what pleases You, Lord? ... That I allow You to live Your life in me. That I allow Your nature to become my nature, as I allow Your thoughts in my mind, Your desires in my heart, Your ways to become my ways. That I take hold of the Truth and let the Truth take hold of me -- that You are “the Way and the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6) and that You desire to be my Way, my Truth, and my Life.
By the power of Your grace at work within me, bring me to the place of surrender and trust where I can truly say, “I live for God” (Galatians 2:19 NLT), where I can truly say, “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20 NLT).
This is the will of God according to the Word of God for me and all who would fully surrender and fully trust their whole lives to You by the power of Your grace: “And as (I) live in God, (my) love grows more perfect. So (I) will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but (I) can face Him with confidence because (I) live like Jesus here in this world” (1 John 4:17 NLT). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
