Morning by Morning, February 9 - The Disciples “Returned with Joy!”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. All that I am and all that I have, I entrust to You as I begin my day embraced by the Father’s love, centered in the Savior’s grace, and filled with the Holy Spirit’s presence. ...
“The seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, in Your name even the demons submit to us!’ He said to them, ‘I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.’ At that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, ‘I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was Your gracious will. All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Then turning to the disciples, Jesus said to them privately, ‘Blessed are the eyes that see what you see!’ For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it!’” (Luke 10:17-24).
Yesterday, Rocio and I “returned with joy” from our two week ministry trip to central Mexico to share the healing love of God everywhere You sent us. With Rocio interpreting, we were able to express Your heart as one to the people who were so hungry to hear and receive this message of healing from the inside out and the spiritual freedom we have in Christ. And an outpouring of the Father’s love is what we constantly heard the people call it, all along the way, as we saw You heal the broken-hearted and set captives free in Morelia, Patzcuaro, and little excursions along the way in San Miguel and Los Azufres.
“Blessed are (our) eyes” for all we have seen, as we saw You heal hurts and wounds of the past, break off spiritual chains, and awaken again passion for You in the freedom of the Spirit from hearts embracing the Father’s love. We saw physical healings, freedom from demonic manifestations, salvation of souls, but all saturated in a soaking river of Your love. Many tears flowed in Your cleansing streams. Many hearts were lifted up, set free, in the power of the Savior’s love!
We’ve “returned with joy,” but we can’t wait to go back! Fill us afresh and send us again as Your ambassadors of love, preparing the way of the Lord in the hearts of Your people to the ends of the earth. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
