Morning by Morning, February 22 - Numerically Prophetic Day of 2/22/22
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Looking to You, I listen for Your leading -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. ...
On this day of February 22, 2022, I see a lot of 2’s: 2/22/22. And it makes me think of Isaiah 22:22, in which You spoke a prophetic word through the Prophet Isaiah:
“I will give him the key to the house of David--the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them” (Isaiah 22:22 NLT).
The word is spoken of one who will be given great “authority” as “a father to the people of Jerusalem and Judah (v. 21). He will be given “great responsibility, and he will bring honor to even the lowliest members of his family” (v. 24). To the one who held this “title” and “high position” before him, Your word declares Your judgment, “I will drive you out of office,’ says the Lord” (v. 19).
Though human beings are entrusted with positions of authority and responsibility in our lives and in our lands, You are our ultimate Authority. You are the One who ultimately holds “the key to the house of David,” who rules and reigns forever and ever. As angel Gabriel spoke of You to Mary before You were conceived in her womb by the Holy Spirit to be our Savior and Messiah:
“You will conceive and give birth to a Son, and you will name Him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His ancestor David. And He will reign over Israel forever; His Kingdom will never end!” (Luke 1:31-33)
And You are the One who uses Your authority and the power of Your throne to open the doors of the Kingdom of heaven and shut the doors of the gates of hell, to open the doors of the will of God and shut the doors of everything less. As You said in Your revelation to the Apostle John, Your beloved one in exile on the Isle of Patmos:
“This is the message from the One who is holy and true,
the One who has the key of David.
What He opens, no one can close;
and what He closes, no one can open” (Revelation 3:7).
Lord Jesus, Son of David, Son of God, take Your place of authority in my heart, in my life, and in my land. Remove from “office” the things in my heart that need to come down. And remove from “office” the ones in my land that need to replaced with the ones who have Your heart, who will use the authority entrusted to them to be “a father to the people” with the Father heart of God.
Open the doors of heaven that no one can close (Revelation 4:1). And shut “the gates of hell” that no one can open (Matthew 16:18). Come rule and reign in Your glory, for You are the “King of kings and the Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16). And Your Kingdom will never end! (Luke 1:33) That’s true on this numerically prophetic day of 2/22/22 and it’s true of every day -- here in my heart and here in my world. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
