Morning by Morning, November 2 - Faith Built on the Rock that Will Not Fall or Fail Good morning, Lord Jesus. I welcome You here in my heart and every moment of my day. ... “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall” (Matthew 7:24-27). Before the rains fall, before the floods come, before the winds blow, is the time to build our house on the rock, the time to make sure whatever house we have built is built on rock and not sand. As I write out these words of my prayer this morning, I hear these words in my heart: “Many think they have built their house on the rock, but they have built on sand. And what they have built will not stand the test of the times you are in. Now is the time to turn to Me, to trust in Me, to search out the Scriptures instead of the news screens, to pursue My Spirit instead of being caught up in the spirit of the world. I AM to be your Worldview. For I AM the Rock, and only those who have found Me, built their understanding of the times in Me, will withstand all this is to come. In Me, you will withstand.” ... Yes, Lord. You are the Cornerstone, the Rock that many will reject (1 Peter 2:4-6). Many will stumble over Your truth, Your ways, Your worldview of how we are to make our decisions and live out our lives grounded in Your Word and filled with Your Spirit as our Security through all we will endure and overcome (v.7). “They stumble, being disobedient to the Word, to which they also were appointed” for to them You have become “A Stone of stumbling and a Rock of offense” (v. 8). So fill me with faith to keep trusting in You. Give me the courage to keep standing in You and in the faith You’re imparting to me. The world will be going its own way. But by the power of Your grace, I choose to keep pursuing Your Way. And when the storms come and seas of the opinions and worldview of people rages and raves, the house of my heart, built upon the Rock of my faith in You will not fail and will not fall. In Jesus’ name I pray.
