Morning by Morning, August 9 - Big Open Doors to Pray for Our Children and Their Schools Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, come rule and reign in my heart and every moment of my day. ... “For a great and effective door has opened to me...” (1 Corinthians 16:9). “To open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut. I will go before you...” (Isaiah 45:1-2). “The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; so he shall open, and no one shall shut...” (Isaiah 22:22). “See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it... (Revelation 3:8). “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne” (Revelation 3:20-21). What a wide-open door was made for us last night, as I gathered with about thirty parents and fellow prayer partners from our community at the Fredericksburg Elementary School. At first, we were to gather at the street in front of the school to pray for the students, teachers, leaders, and staff at this school and on behalf of all our schools in our town. But the Principal and Vice Principal welcomed us to come on into the office and the teachers’ lounge to pray for them and for the school! We walked right through “the double doors” of the front of the school at the personal invitation of these head authorities! Right after the students’ parents had their Meet the Teacher Night, we had our Come Meet Jesus in Prayer Night with the Principal, Vice Principal, and School Nurse, as we laid hands on them and prayed for them. We prayed for wisdom and peace, for safety and security, for the flow of God’s love and the power of the Presence of His Holy Spirit to fill the halls and fill the hearts of everyone who set foot on the campuses where we’ve entrusted the children of our community to be taught in truth. After we prayed, the Principal asked a song request -- “Good, Good Father.” So we all sang this song of worship together in the offices of the elementary school, in front of the signs on the wall of the Teachers’ Lounge that our children were not only to be taught there, but also to feel loved there. I was led by the Spirit to lay hands on the Principal and prophesy that our Father had given him a Father Heart of God, as he leads and loves the young children and their teachers of our community -- no matter their personal faith or beliefs, where our faith is not imposed but our faith is boldly proclaimed in the freedom we have.
We were so blessed to be “called into the Principal’s office” through these big open doors to worship and pray in the mighty, loving, powerful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ over our schools. And we will continue to pray, as we keep coming through these big doors of the Spirit that are wide-open to every child of God to come boldly before our Father’s Throne of Grace to pray for our children, our schools, and our communities in the freedom we have in our nation. Lord, let it be so across this land and around this world! Praise God! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
